I like to explore the full range of women's fashion and, hopefully, through it some of the experiences of being female. After recently experimenting with the prim schoolmarm look, I'm now heading in the opposite direction.
This outfit grew from a kernel. I was walking in the mall and noticed some incredible colored, patterned tights. The tights alone inspired me to create an outfit. I built around them, showcasing their sassy appeal. I added a dress of complementary color, shoes that don't distract attention and jewelry for polish.
Do you ever build outfits around one piece?
You look fabulous Ally! I often create a look around a particular piece.ReplyDelete
Have a fab Tuesday Hun xoxo
Yes, one piece can inspire a whole outfit. Love that you kept the colors similar in the dress and tights for a long line without breaking up the overall look. Great necklace too!ReplyDelete
Love this look! I do this at times too, I like to build outfits around shoes! The pink in this look makes the shoes stand-out here :)ReplyDelete
I do that! My inspiration comes from odd places or even a songReplyDelete
Fun tights! I love this! Pink is a great color on you too. I have built entire outfits around one piece before. I have even dressed around my purse!ReplyDelete
That beats me!Delete
I swear, you have the most enviable gams ever. And yes, I definitely build outfits starting with one piece and then building up from there!ReplyDelete

Those tights are awesome. I usually build my outfits around one piece that inspires me.ReplyDelete
I feel like building outfits around one piece is something I should be doing, but I always end up throwing everything I feel like wearing at the moment on. Those tights are incredible, adn you look great!ReplyDelete
Thanks, buddy. I also often feel the urge to toss on everything, but I end up looking like Phyllis Diller. (If that's too old a reference for you, I end up looking like Sunday brunch buffet after the crowd attacked it.)Delete
Definitely - today's blue shoes have inspired SEVERAL built-around outfits that I always look forward to wearing. :)ReplyDelete
I'm really struck by your wonderfully intentional approach to exploring the full range of women's fashion. Also, that vibrant colour is lovely on you!
Oooh, I love this color on you head to toe! I can see how you got started with those tights. I think starting from one great piece that's special is a great way to build an outfit.ReplyDelete
Wowza fabulous tights. Almost every outfit is built around one piece I want to wear. Though on occasion, like mouse, I toss on everything I want to wear all at once. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Tights are definitely a favorite starting place for outfit building. I can't wait until it cools down enough for me to start pulling my tights out.ReplyDelete
What a color and great pattern, yes "sassy" is the word :)ReplyDelete
I do built outfits with one piece, it all differs on my mood
Where did you find those tights? I can't ever find anything but black textured tights in my size. Drives me crazy!ReplyDelete
And yes, great outfit. Love the color and think the tights will also be great with an all black outfit. Gosh but I love tights!
whoa those tights are pretty awesome.. I would love a pair of those.. hot stuff!!!ReplyDelete
I like how you're experimenting with different ways of expressing your femininity. Today is Hot Mama day! Those tights are gorgeous and match the dress perfectly. The necklace is outstanding as well. I will often let one piece, and it could be anything, be the catalyst for the rest of the outfit. Sometimes it's even hair, like I need to wear it up or put on a hat because it's just not working. That can dictate what I chose to wear.ReplyDelete
P.S. I just saw a comment of yours over at Gracey's. Nordstrom Rack? Be very excited!Delete
sassy is right!ReplyDelete
The bitch (me) is baaaaack! Hiya hun!ReplyDelete
The hip ruffles are cute. And I want your legs. It's just not fair. I was just mentioning the photo of your legs in a tutu and heels on your motorcycle when talking with Freeda the other day. *sigh*
I'll trade you my legs for your life, LD. Deal?Delete
I can see why you wanted to go all out and be your sassy pink self in this post. No restraints today. I've never tried such awesome tights. You look great.ReplyDelete
Pink is definitely your colour! awesome!ReplyDelete
Inside and Outside Blog
i often plan outfits around one piece!!!ReplyDelete
and u look awsome...i never have tried so bright tights :)
What a photo! (the first one). Your legs are amazing! I am a big tights fan and sometimes start from them when picking an outfit. My favourite pace in London for hosiery is Harrods, they have the best range of colours and finishes. Spendy, but lovely :-)ReplyDelete
What a beautiful color of pink and it looks great on you. Where do you find all your tights? They are usually such interesting and cool patterns. I never see them around here.ReplyDelete
Love that necklace!!!!
Gorgeous colors! I love the risks you take. You look sassy!ReplyDelete
Fabulous tights! Very sassy! Yes, I often build an outfit around one piece. That's it all begins.:)ReplyDelete
I saw a dress very similar to that at Zara but in green! I love the bold choice of necklace too.ReplyDelete
Oh my, that last picture! Meooww!ReplyDelete
Super pink colored tights! matches your dress to a T! I'm actually looking forward to wearing tights for this Autumn again. I usually create outfits from a particular item, tights have in the past sparked many a outfit ideas.ReplyDelete
