Bursting With Brio

This vivacious dress put me in high spirits.  Its bold design and bright colors, amplified by an unusual hem (longer on the sides and shorter in the middle), makes me smile widely.  If a garment can bring you joy, this one does.

What do you think?

  1. Totally love this dress Ally!

It's exactly the sort of thing that I would wear every day if I wasn't in jeans most of the time. And I do have a similar dress with almost exactly that hemline, it's just oranger :)

Sorry I haven't been around as much lately, just having one of my interested in other things moments, but I have been checking out what you're up to of course :)

    1. Thanks, Cara. And, just to be clear, there is NOTHING that looks better on me than it would on you. :-)

  7. Seriously fun, chic warm weather look! There's a great 1970s vibe at work here that makes me think of designers spanning Halston to Missoni.

*PS* That is crazy cool about you being good friends with founders/owners of Lime Crime.

    1. I've known them for almost twenty years, back when they were in a rock band and unsure what to do with their lives. I've been a helpful guide to them and their youth invigorates me.

  8. It's beautiful and looks like a dress for dancing. I would personally be very nervous about how short it is in the front! But perhaps it's easier to keep track of it than if it were that short in the back. I imagine you have a similar problem to me in that being taller, dresses are a bit shorter than perhaps intended.

    1. Yes, a hem that's fine on normal-sized gals is short on me.

  10. I LOVE this dress on you, Ally!
This is so funny though, because I just, like 2 seconds ago, was getting my post ready for tomorrow and I wore a new dress and talked about how the hi lo style that it is just doesn't feel right on me. But it looks smashing on you because you've got the greatest legs EVER! :) The style and cut of the top and colors are wonderful. Your lipstick looks so perfect with it. Great shoe choice too. This is definitely one of my all time favorites.

  19. This dress is def. something you don't see very often. I know exactly what you mean when an item of clothing can change your mood. I like how it's high low because it really adds interest, but not being too much with the pattern.
