Borrowing From The Guys

Most menswear is boring -- with one exception -- I think women would enjoy borrowing this style.  In my whole life, however, I've only seen one woman who appropriated this item; that's the fearless Sheila whose blog is a model of creativity and style.

The style I'm referring to is French Cuffs with cufflinks.  The look is elegant.  And, as with all jewelry, there's no limit to how interesting and pretty cufflinks can be.

I wear cufflinks with my male clothes all the time.  I've acquired a nice collection of them, some of which are very unusual.  My favorites are ones made from real baseballs used in a MLB game (sold by MLB) and replicas of a motorcycle speedometer.  These and others are shown below.

Would you ever wear cufflinks?  Try 'em!

  1. I like cufflinks a lot. The problem is that I have no shirts that will allow me to use them. I will buy them if they are interesting even though I can't wear them. I have been on the look out for a shirt/blouse to wear them with, but still haven't found one.
Love the baseball cuff links. I have a friend who would be crazy over them.

  2. Those are all so cool. I love cufflinks, and if I worked in a situation where I wore suits, I'd be all over cufflinks. I especially love your ones that look like lava!

Cufflinks always come in the coolest designs. I am particularly obsessed with these Wendy Brandes Freud cufflinks. I'm half temped to ask her to make a pendant version. Lol psych major nerd.

  4. Aw, thank you for the shout-out, Ally! I love wearing cufflinks (and my husband's ties, too), and I always keep an eye out for women's shirts that allow for them.

  5. Not a fan of cufflinks because I've never worn them, and I don't wear shirts appropriate for them. They look cool, though!

  6. I have exactly one pair of cuff links to go with my ONE french cuff shirt. I love french cuffs, though they seem fancy to me. My cuff links are little gold knots.

  15. Cufflinks galore! I love shopping for them, but then again I love shopping for everything else. The last pair looks really nice, very pretty blue.

  16. I don't think I've ever considered cufflinks before. But I love how bright and unique each pair is. They are a very fun facet of menswear that I've definitely overlooked until now. I love the last pair you pictured - such a pretty color!
