A Simple Look

I like to try new things.  The results frequently surprise me.

For example, while I prefer snazzy clothes, I'm open to wearing conservative clothes, too.  Sometimes I enjoy how they look.

This shirt, for example.  It's more conservative than I normally like but there's something appealing about its mix of colors.  And the texture of the shirt is interesting, especially when paired with a skirt that also has nice, subtle texture.

Here are two pictures of the shirt and skirt, and then two adding a matching sweater.  Which way do you like it?

  1. I like it better with the sweater. The pattern de-emphasizes the bust, but you need those curves! The sweater brings it into balance. :) Very nice look! I would unbutton it one more, though.

  2. +1 in favor of the sweater! I think the brightness of the sweater livens up your complexion, and the extra structure of the tie around the mid-section adds a definition to your waist that was lacking before.

  3. I concur- the sweater color perks it up, and makes the top look more feminine. It's otherwise a pretty unisex top.

  4. I like it both ways, but I'd consider adding a different coloured belt with the cardigan.

  5. I love the color of the sweater. And as Wendy said I would use a different colored belt instead. Maybe grey to match the skirt.

  7. I like it both ways, there is a lot that you can do with a button up like that. Layer it like you did, you can tie it, belt it over dresses and other tops. Sometimes simlpe items are the most used! :)

  8. I like it both ways, but I'd like to see more contrasting waist detail (a belt over the shirt would look amazing). The pink sash on the pink sweater is nice, but a grey belt would look better.

Well done! A very nice conservative (for you!) look. :)

  11. I like it with the sweater as well; the waist-cinching effect is so flattering on you. Like some others, I'd like to see how it looks with a contrasting-colored belt!
