Outside!

My first outdoors post!  I'm so excited!

This is funny -- I was so nervous when I started that, for the first half of the shooting, I forgot to smile.  Then I remembered and brought the grin back.  Normally I can't stop from smiling when I wear nice clothes but the novelty of being outside totally overwhelmed me.

Okay, here are the pictures.  I couldn't figure out how to crop them on this computer, so forgive the excess space.  You can always click on the photos to enlarge them, if you wish a closer look at anything.

How observant are you?  In the next picture, there's something radically different.  Can you spot it?

Yup, I lost the skirt.

I wore it initially for modesty and then removed it to see what would happen.  I know this sweater-dress is too short for me (I've mentioned that before) but I like looking at my legs.  And the neighbors didn't mind, so there!

One last picture, showing my cute boots:

What do you think?

  1. You look so happy! :D I'm glad you felt able to take your shoot outdoors, and the outfit is great! Better with the skirt, though....

  2. Yeah, you DO look so happy! I'm glad that your neighbors are accepting. Who took the pictures?

I think the outdoors is a nice change. Not that there was anything wrong with the indoor posts.

  3. Ditto lawyerdoll!

I watched To Wong Foo last night, Vida made me think of you. :)

  4. Thanks, guys. I guess I can't hide my joy. :)

I took the pictures myself with a tripod and self-timer. And I'm not exactly sure about the neighbors being "accepting" -- I didn't ask 'em and figure if they don't like what they see in my backyard, they shouldn't be looking!

I'm with you Alyse on diversity of background. There's one blogger who, if I see her porch once more, I'm gonna barf!

  9. Ooo I saw the comment on the porch background. I hope I am not the offender. I am trying to mix it up a bit, my blog just isn't a top priority. It is hard to get my husband or son to take my picture for me, they think the blog is silly. I took a look and realized that I have a lot of pictures on my porch. Will try to mix it up more. : )

  11. That sweater dress is lovely - the color looks great on you.

Hope I'm not the porch offender too - on busy days, it's just the easiest location for me :)

  14. Bah how did I miss these? Love it both ways but you have the legs for the shorter look! I have to say that I am really liking the bright pink on you, you match your blog! You also do the squint-face like I do! lol, there really is no avoiding it unless you take pictures earlier or later in the day, but you look great in natural light! Even though I like taking peeks into your posh house ;)

  15. Love the scenery change, though the inside of your house is beautiful too. The fall leaves are so pretty this time of year, though. This is another first big step for you - takin' it outside!! YEAH.

  17. Lucky you, it looks like the weather in your place is still quite a bit warmer... I think eventually I'd keep the skirt because it brings in another color. Also, I wish I had black boots like these.

    Cheers,

  18. Thanks, poet. I mentioned a while back I snagged the boots on triple-sale at Marshall's; they were only $39 (and are normally around $250).

Winter in NY isn't bad except for a little period in January. 40-60 degrees F is the norm.
