Oh, Canada

I'm up in Canada this weekend. Visiting friends in Hamilton, Ontario.

I love this country but, damn, the traffic around Toronto is worse than New York. Never thought I'd say those words. As you can see above, to handle the trip I've become bi-monetal. :-)

Actually, given my additional use of two cyber-currencies (Bitcoin & Ether) I'm technically quad-monetal. (I made up that word for the joke; auto-correct keeps changing it to mineral.)

What are you doing this weekend?

  1. Enjoy our insane heat!

This time by staying in Hamilton you will avoid all that terrible Toronto traffic. Hamilton is 45 minutes outside of Toronto to the west and far, far away from that madness.

    1. Thanks, Suzanne. I came in to Hamilton from the east (passing through Toronto) and, tomorrow am going home by heading south. I never want to suffer that traffic again!

  2. Ahhrghrhr, traffic! Hope you made it eventually! We had our fair share of egregious traffic today. After a fairly productive morning of house and garden clear up, we headed to pick up parcels and then drove to Beaconsfield for a rehearsal for a wedding we are performing at in 2 weeks. It was a really nice rehearsal- very cheesy music and then we ate baked Camembert and French bread!!! Mmmm! Tomorrow I am helping CBC supervise his teenage pupils at a Chamber Choir concert near Colchester!

    1. Sounds like you're having a good time. Thanks for sharing. I loved spending today with my blogger-friend Sheila. We talked endlessly.

  3. Have fun in Canada!

I had planned to attend a motorcycle roadrace in New Jersey, but it's been raining since Thursday.

  4. Please travel home safely!!!! Today is my son's 24th birthday and we celebrated yesterday by taking friends and family to brunch. Today I visited my favourite wool shop and then had a quick coffee with Wendy … now going to sit in front of the tv and continue crocheting (the reason I went to the wool shop).

  5. I was at an ebt in midtown on Wednesday and tried to flee the city just as the 7/3 traffic was building. I made it to 9th avenue to get jammed with everyone else heading to NJ due to the Lincoln tunnel being closed.
I got out of the line and headed down to the Holland. It took 4 hours just to get out of NYC and another 2 hours to get halfway down the shore. I could have made the drive to Canada in less time.
I hope you had a great Independence Day.

    1. I know whatof you speak. Trying to get out of the city on days like last Wednesday is extremely frustrating. Yesterday, coming home from Canada, traffic on the NY Thruway was backed up to Albany.

  6. How was the trip? Have you ever been to Hamilton, CA? We drove through it last fall and we really want to stay there sometime. It looks very charming.
