Snake Squash

Have you ever eaten anything longer than your arm?

I haven't -- but plan to. I just got a "Snake Squash" grown in Louisiana. Italians love it and call it "Cucuzza Squash." After peeling, you cook it like any other vegetable. Report on that to follow.

I knew you wouldn't believe me about its size so here's photographic evidence. With no editing!

  1. My grandfather grew them in his garden in Queens. I was often tempted to use one as a baseball bat. I doubt the results would have been a home run in anyone's book

    That is a hilarious squash!

Thank you so much for the book you sent me! I love it! I am so excited to read it - thank you thank you! I hear you sent Elaine one as well. You are such a sweetheart, Ally.
