"Midnight In Paris"

I was surprised and delighted yesterday by this new comedy from Woody Allen.  I haven't liked his last few films, but this one hits a homerun.

The movie is a whimsical romp through art, literature and history.  Set in Paris, the film stars Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cottillard, Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody -- and Carla Bruni!   Yes, the First Lady of France plays a small role.

Telling you about the plot would ruin its surprises for you.  Trust me, the film is good!

  2. I wanted to see this, I love some of his movies, Annie Hall is one of my favorite films! Carla Bruni is a surprise, she has some amazing pipes too, but you probably already know that haha :)

  4. I love Rachel McAdams (she's from the same Canadian province as me!) so this movie is definitely on my "to watch" list!

  7. I need to see this since I'm always looking for new movies to watch. I haven't heard much about it which is a good thing because I like things that are more obscure sometimes, rather than huge Hollywood hits. Thanks for the suggestion.

  11. I love Paris. I will see this movie upon your recommendation.

Now I will warn you about a movie that I walked out of last night. Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides. They got that right. Very strange. But not in a good way. It was awful. And Johnny Depp has been my fake boyfriend for 25 years. I love all there is that is Johnny Depp. But this film is a pile of Sh-----. So, you have fair warning.

  12. I heard about this only because I used to have the biggest crush ever on Owen Wilson.
    I love his broken nose.
Chances are good that I will see it just because I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Owen.

  13. I haven't seen too many Woody Allen films, although it's been on my to-do list since a professor showed clips from several of them in one of my sociology classes last year. I think I'll start with the older ones and THEN see this...weren't Rachel McAdams and Owen Wilson paired together in another movie, too?
