Spring Clothes

I hope you are well.  I've been hobbled by a bad cold lately.  Unfortunately my work-schedule hasn't let up so I've had to soldier through some tough days.

It's important to have balance in life so, when things get hard, I try to inject some fun.  On the way back from court yesterday, I had two hours before having to conduct a deposition so I went shopping.  I found happiness and some nice clothes!

I bought the polka-dot espadrille wedges shown above from Payless for only $17.  I've never worn espadrilles before and will have to learn how to tie them.  Any advice?

I also found a cute new Spring dress at a discount store (Fox's): it's brightly-colored with a black belt sewn into the waist and a pretty bow on the belt.  I hope to wear it tonight and will take pictures for you.

Have you bought any new Spring clothes this year?

  2. Wheee, these are so cute! I have some leather wedge sandals from my mom that I will certainly wear this spring and summer for the sake of the hippie revival trend. I also made them into espadrille-style lace-up sandals because the original straps were broken... (here: http://baytreepoet.blogspot.com/2010/05/poet-saves-broken-shoes.html) but I can't offer advice on how to tie them because I don't usually tie stuff around my ankles, so I also tried to keep the bows low on those. That won't work for yours, I'm afraid...

I'll be making lots of spring clothes this week, I hope!

It's not hard to tie those, just wrap them around your ankle and make a nice bow! Pretty much as in the picture! I can't wait to see the new outfits! And hang in there buddy! :)
    Kisses and hugs!

  4. Aww - eat lots of vitamin c rich food - skip the supplement.

Those espadrils are divine. Looking forward to seeing your outfit ... we're in autumn here, so heading to winter ... and yesterday I bought a divine blue long sleeved work shirt and purple pullover and today a pair of black booties that I can't wait to wear and share :-)

Hugs for you and hope you feeling real better real soon :-)

  6. They are best with casual, light summer clothes. Light skirts, shorts, capris... even the more casual dresses. It's tough to waer espadrilles with anything "dressy"- they are a casual shoe.

I wish I could wear them, but my legs would look like marshmallows in rubber bands. They will look great on your hot legs, though!

  7. I haven't worn them ever either ... They do not seem to be my thing!

  10. Those are awesome espadrilles. Tie 'em up firmly, as those ties tend to come undone when you walk.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather, sweetie. I hope you feel better soon - the weekend is almost here!

  11. I hope you feel better soon- colds are the worst! These espadrilles are beautiful! I'm not the best person to ask because whenever I wear them, the ties either fall down my legs or dig into my skin! I'm on a self imposed shopping ban but I do want to buy some fun hats soon!

is it bad that i call shopping, "pain go bye bye"? anyway, i can totally relate.

i think you should where the polka dot espadrilles with the floral spring dress. in my head it makes perfect sense. try it and see what you think.

  16. You'll love these espadrilles--as they are forgiving and the wedges will be comfortable too. I'm eager to see the new dress. Have not bought any NEW things but I have thrifted some "new" spring items.
