We haven't had any real cold spells at all so far this Winter. The temperature has hardly dipped under freezing point at all! But it's not unusual to get snow late February or March even. xxx
We're having more extremes. Today is due to be 70F. Tomorrow night is down to 19F.
We've had snow 3 or 4 times and had very very cold days. Last year we were iced in for almost a week solid. The city stood still. We're still dealing with the after effects and every snow this year has further ruined the roads.
I'm not sure the 60-70F days are any better than the icy ones. Bouncing back and forth puts our area at greater risk for tornado formation (also which we had last year).
It hasn't been too bad, actually. The coldest winter we had was in 2008...our electricity bill for our small condo in January that year was $800. The old historic windows are nice but they are floor to ceiling and very drafty!
Eh, ups and downs. We've had very cold spells, then it's as cold as it usually is (not very), then it's warm.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures.
We had a heat advisory here today! - Ashley
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for the update: I wonder about you often!

ReplyDeleteIt's not been snowing or superbly cold though we've had some very bitter days.

ReplyDeleteInsulation makes a huge difference. I learned that after renovating our aging home and saw dramatically lower fuel costs.
