Sparkles

It's always exciting for me to wear an item that doesn't have a male equivalent, like a halter top or off-the-shoulder dress. Male garments don't bare shoulders so doing it makes me feel girly.

I explained in my last outfit-post that currently I'm forced to create new looks under limited circumstances. As a result, there are two problems with the outfit below which are obvious. First, it desperately needs jewelry but my accessories are all in storage. The choice was plain or not at all. Second, the short hem-length is obviously immodest. Most women's clothes are made for 5'4"-5'8" females and when a 6'0" tall person wears them, they fall short. You'll have to bear seeing a lot of leg.

Hey, I do what I can and it isn't always perfect. :-)

  1. Wowzers! You look stunning, Ally! I love this pretty sparkly dress.

I don't think it's immodest, but I do think it is short on you. You could do a sheer black leg (nylons or sheer tights) to help ameliorate that. Great shoes!

Yes, accessories make the outfit, but understandable when they're in storage! I hope you get them back soon. :)

    1. Yes, I agree with black nylons and have them but they're buried in storage. I'll wear them next time with this dress. Thanks for your expert feedback, as always. :)

  2. Looks great on you! Off the shoulder cuts are so flirty. And I obviously love the sparkles. You need to do a glitter eye liner next time you wear it!

  3. I have the same issue with hemlines because my height is mainly in my leg inseam. Pants are a nightmare until the cropped style came in. You have great legs so don't cover them up.

  4. You got great legs though! I'm under the average height and some hemlines are just short. I do agree black nylons or ones with the retro stripe up the back would look fab.

    I dig the heels too.

Women definitely won out on the interesting necklines.

  5. I could never pull a dress like that off, but you obviously do! I've probably said it before, but you've got an amazing pair of legs! xxx

  6. Your legs are Goooood!!!! BUT, as a fellow tall girl, I do know that feeling of, "This is too short for me to feel comfortable in" (mainly due to bum flash worries if I lean over a bit). You could create a modern spin on this by pairing it with black shiny/wet look or just black leggings and heels?x

    1. There are fixes to this like the ones you suggest; when I get access to the rest of my wardrobe I can put one together. I created this outfit for the joy of simply wearing it, not to achieve fashion perfection, so its deficiencies in that regard don't bother me. I noted them because I'm sure others would point them out if I didn't.

    2. Ah, I thought you wanted suggestions, sorry. I liked the outfit as it was.
I don't know what Fashion perfection is. I do my own thing!

  7. Needless to repeat, legs this awesome can rock the shortest hem and look all the more fabulous. Shoes seem lovely too.

I must say though, even though I'm a notorious jewelry lover and can certainly envision how this dress would benefit from accessories, I'm actually kind of OK with it as it is, too. "Plain" can be very chic when done right, and amazing legs can be a huge help in that regard.

  9. As a 6'-4" person myself, I know how difficult it is to find clothes for tall people.
