The Holidays Have Arrived

I don't know how it happened, but Summer's over and Thanksgiving is next week.  I need to get my Christmas shopping done pronto.  I have to buy a box of gifts for my dad with enough time to ship them down to Florida.  One year I was late (by two days) and I'll never hear the end of that.  You'd thought I'd killed an elf...

This Fall flew by and now we're looking at Christmas decorations.  Are you ready?  When do you start your holiday shopping?

  1. I've started...Our customary gift these past few years for US, my brothers and spouses (where appropriate), and Mr. DJB's brother and his wife is the Metropolitan Museum of Art day-by-day desk calendar. I HAVE to start this early in the season before they're all sold out!

  3. I have one gift left to figure out and buy and then I am finished. Wrapped a whole lot on Thursday evening, made the tags today and have also started working on January birthday gifts ~ at least that is one stress of my plate.

  5. Thats a nice colourful image. I imagine she bought quite a lot of nice things in those bags lol. The year has flown by, I should start my shopping soon but venturing out to the shops at this time of year can be risky for me, especially as I'm drawn to glittery things.

  6. I finished my Christmas shopping 2 weeks ago, we always get in early before every one goes crazy and there's no parking spots and there is a heat wave. It leaves more time for celebrating, carols and catching up with family and friends.

  7. I can't believe where all the time has gone...for me Christmas shopping is a mad rush at the end, I hate Christmas so I put it off and pretend it isn't happening.

  8. Noooo....it's all gone by too fast!! I am not ready! I was able to pick up a stack of gift cards yesterday but nothing real yet. I keep postponing it in hopes that time will just roll back...I know it won't happen but it's wishful thinking!!

  9. I will admit I do almost all of my shopping online, then fill in with trips to small, locally owned stores. For me, Christmas is about the lights and decorations mostly. I don't do Black Friday at all!

  10. I've already started. I started with my coworkers, now going onto friends and family. This is one of the few years I've been able to afford to give gifts to everyone, so I'm excited. Even more excited because I have people to give to!!

That said, I don't do Black Friday and I don't do much shopping online if I can help it.

  11. I always have the same holiday shipping issues. First it was from Vancouver to Toronto and now it's from Poland to Toronto.... Yikes! Sooo..... now it's all purchased online and I let Amazon do the "heavy lifting". Not ideal but it works.
