There's Always Fashion

Lately it seems everyone is under more stress than usual. I don't discuss politics publicly but think we all need some fun to take our minds off depressing news. For me (and some of you) fashion is an answer.

I found two pieces recently which I love individually. Wasn't sure if they'd combine well, but figured I'd try and see. Here's the result.

Yes? No? Suggestions?

  2. I love the big pink (PINK) top - show your arms! You look like you have pink wings instead, hee hee. I like the leggings with the boots - damn, hon, you have the best legs. I would do them with a more modern (mod?) tunic. I feel like the boho style of the top is fighting the plaid a bit. Lovely!

    1. That's exactly what I was thinking. Glad to know I'm on the right track. Thanks, Sheila.

    2. "Music From 'Big Pink'" by The Band. One of the best albums of all time.

  3. I love each piece, but am truly captivated by the combo. I am always impressed by artful combinations, and I love these colors! Love the detail of the blouse, and your legs look amazing if I may say so!

  4. LOVE both pieces, but especially the pants. I want a pair like that! I think I could have a lot of fun! Great pairing overall!

  5. I really like the top but think it could have been better paired with a black pencil skirt, beige hose and black heels.

  6. I like the two pieces but agree with Sheila that they might be fighting for attention.

Both of the pieces are great though and I do love that colour combination.

The top kind of reminds me of a vintage nighty.

  7. I love both pieces, but the tunic is my absolute favourite. Like Sheila, I think the leggings would look better with a Mod style tunic, but I definitely approve of the colour combination. You are doing well, Ally! xxx

  8. I definitely couldn't pull that off! I like the pants a lot though. (I'd prefer to wear it with a black top, but that's just my preference!)

  11. It's a fun outfit and leggings are another good way to show off your legs. I'll repeat what's already been said, the top is a bit boho but I think a different type of batwing style something more linear and geometric looking might work. Also I would tweak it ( in a perfect world ) to a brighter, hotter pink, something like the pink on your blog here, magenta I suppose it is, with a purple tone to it. To my eye that works best with black and white. So easy to assess an outfit but harder to actually find the pieces you can see in your mind's eye! Count me amongst those admiring your legs! xoxo

  12. WHERE ARE YOUR ARMS!????????????????????
The colour of the top is definitely not my thing but the frills are really pretty and feminine!

  13. You are so adorable :) I think this is a really fun look and I totally adore that top and the leggings. I would pick up both pieces if I found them myself!

I can see what others are saying, that perhaps each piece is enough of a stand alone. I'd love to see that top with a black skirt... and maybe those leggings with a brightly colored, long tunic. Regardless, you look fab as always :) Keep playing around with these patterns and styles--it's fun to see what you put together!
