Just Plain Crazy

In the pursuit of fun, I believe we can wear ANYTHING.  I put together this ridiculous outfit which is wild and age-inappropriate -- but it makes me smile.  A great big happy smile.

The outfit began when I found fuzzy pink leg-warmers in a head-shop.  Who could turn these down?  I built from there.  In my mind, I'm a 24-year old with a flair for the extreme.

If you've never dressed out on the ledge, I recommend you try it.  Expanding our horizon is exciting and teaches unexpected lessons.  Plus, it gives you something crazy to put on your blog!

  1. Oh my goodness - my anime, arcade dwelling, raver goth kid self is dying over this outfit. I would have wanted to be your BFF (not like I already don't!) but seriously this is so much funn!!!!

I am so waiting for the day where I am not worn out, in pain and falling asleep over my computer because I got the most beautiful vintage jacket I want to do a photoshoot for. For now, I'll hold it tenderly while I dream, but one of these days, I'll get all gussied up.

  2. I won't soapbox too much on somebody else's blog, but seriously, the age-appropriate police are the enemies of fun, and every time I see somebody figuratively (or literally, heh) give them the finger and wear what makes them happy and feel good, it fills me with delight.

Also, you're wearing pink and black, which is always a perfect colour combination.

  5. Those leg warmers are amazing! And your styling is perfect because it is fun. I try to do something fun with my outfits everyday, even if just a little, because it makes me happy too. And so does seeing my friend in this great outfit. I love it!

  6. I always think "Now where would Ally wear that to" when I see your outfits, not as a point of mockery, but as a point of interest. Today's outfit? The roller rink. Makes me mad I had to miss the last party at the one in our city!

    1. I grasp your thought and find it interesting to ponder. Routine life is too boring; we need to perk it up any way we can.

  9. When I read the comment you left me today I laughed. I think you're so sweet and funny. I was thinking that you are just a LOT more FUN than I am. haha And then I head over here and see exactly that. A vibrant, full of life person that has a special flair all her own. And I LOVE it. Great job with the pink and animal print. I feel so dulllll. haha I've never even thought of owning furry leg warmers. :)

  10. Those leg warmers (and the whole outfit) whether age-inappropriate or not (not that I think there is any rules i.t.o. that any more) is filled with fun just like you!

Your legs look killer in those leg warmers and I think I would wear them as well ... which would also be age-inappropraite but what the heck!!! Let's have some fun!!!! If we didn't do it when we were 24 let's act like we're 24 now!!!

    You are an absolute inspiration!!!!

  11. These leg warmers are so insane... I kinda love them. If you can't have fun w/fashion, than what's the point? The winner of the first season of Project Runway, Jay, had a similar foot - thing going on for his runway show at NYFW and I was living... It is still the most memorable, IMO.

  22. You're a year younger than me now :) I am not a believer in age appropriate outfits, wear what looks good, feels good and fits well is what I live my life by! Those furry leg warmers are so fabulous and you already know how much I love leopard print! Have a great long weekend Ally!

  26. My 24-year-old self would have been all over this outfit. I was really into Sailor Moon and cosplay. I'm still obsessed with pink. I love how adventurous your outfits are lately. Have you thought about dressing for other ages?

  27. I love your posts because you remind me to have fun, even if it's only in the confines of my own home sometimes. Those pink leg warmers are super cute and I always love a bit of leopard print. Your comment on my post made me laugh, ha ha ha to the va-ja-ja! I'll always think of it as the va-ja-ja dress now. xx

  28. I love how fun and colourful this is! So fabulous and makes me happy to see so much fun and creativity. I always find it interesting how outfits come together, yay for pink leg warmers!

  29. So the legwarmers are obviously awesome and fun - but what struck me even more was how this outfit, with or without them, seriously gives you the cutest, girliest shape. It's something about the way the length and ruching of the cardigan work with the way the skirt just slightly puffs out at the hip under the waistband. Well-chosen pieces that are not only great in color and style but enhance that shape you're after. Love it.
