Jeni Bauer founded an ice cream company twenty years ago in Ohio. She creates interesting, unusual flavors. I visited my friend Emma in Columbus three years ago and Emma introduced me to Jeni's ice cream.
Their newest flavor is "Everything Bagel." I had to try it so I ordered some online; it arrived today.
Good news! It's delicious. The ice cream has a cream cheese base that's seasoned with everything bagel spices. You can taste onion, garlic and sesame seed. Imagine an everything bagel that's cold and sweet.

ReplyDeleteThis ice-cream sounds so interesting. I think sesame seed would work well with ice-cream, especially creamy ones but I have hard time imagining a garlic taste thrown in there. Great of you to support Jeni and local business.
ReplyDeleteMy dad and I have a tradition of buying weird ice cream/potato chip/soda flavors. This one would take the cake (bagel?).

DeleteThat sounds absolutely awesome! While I enjoy many sweet treats, I've always been more inclined towards salty/savoury foods. The merging of both in ice cream form is wildly appealing. Thank you for the delicious inspiration! (I can hear our ice cream making calling my name already. 😄)

Well yes, now I need to hunt it down! That sounds really good. I feel like Everything Bagel is trending - I got myself an Everything Bagel nail polish a few months ago and Trader Joe's sells Everything Bagel seasoning and just released some Everything Bagel potato chips!
