Back To (Ab)normal

My last outfit-post explored "normal" clothes. It was fun.

We now return to our regularly-scheduled programming -- my natural style which is fierce, flashy and fabulous. It's who I am deep inside.

The catalyst for the outfit below was discovering a real 1960's dress in my friend's vintage store yesterday. The dress is authentic and has the age-holes and tears to prove it. Certainly the style reflects the wild fashion existing back then -- and I should know, I was there!

What do you think? Have you ever worn Sixties' style?

  2. I love clothing from the 60s so much and often feel I was totally born in the wrong era. But then I think of how far we’ve come and maybe I’m not ready to go back there lol. Love this dress—and you! Xoxo

  4. OBSESSED. That dress is so pretty. I'm been kind of exploring formal dresses I want to get for my cruise next year and I'm contemplating going for a 20s style flapper. I feel like I was meant to live in the 20s and was just born way too late.

  6. Love the title to this post :) and love your outfit, you did an excellent job also with the eyeshadow, very 60s inspired...and those ankle boots! Perfect! Love fashion from that period of time. Kisses

  8. Mod attire looks awesome on you, Ally. It rarely does on me, but I'm keen on dipping into the waters of the earliest years of the decade (when looks were often still close to those of the late 50s) and perhaps even more so, nowadays, into the boho elements of fashion that filled this wild, transformative, unforgettable ten year slice of our collective world history.

    1. Yes, I love the early-60's which, as you note, started in the late-50's. A wonderful period for fashion and culture.

  10. You need a fancy house party to wear this to. Perfect to shimmy and shake and catch party lights with. Twiggy ain't got nothing on Ally!

  11. Seriously love the whole outfit, but especially the makeup...taking that bold color all the way up to the brow is very '60s!
