I expected to hate HY because it's intended for rich people but, damn. Damn. That would be like hating New York itself. You can't hate something which is full of fun stuff. If you choose wisely, you can enjoy HY on your own terms, with or without money.
The biggest attraction is the "Vessel," a huge structure designed for walking and photography (my favorite activities). There are pics below. Entry into the structure is free.
Dining options are good and wide. I ate a delicious lunch at one of a dozen restaurants. There are a half-dozen nice coffee-shops. There's a chic bar in Neimann Marcus I'm keen to try.
Have you been to Hudson Yards? What was your experience?
Seems like a cool place to visit! You got some great photos.
ReplyDeleteI hope all was well with the Dr.
Suzanne
Yup. Next time you visit, I'll take you there.
DeleteThat looks cool!
ReplyDeleteIt is!
DeleteI have seen it from the West Side Highway but not up close and personal. I suppose it belongs on my list of places to visit
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to walk on and, even better, there are plenty of fabulous places to eat next door.
DeleteThe Vessel is extraordinary, just wow! xxx
ReplyDeleteYup!
DeleteHope you are doing well Ally! Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteI am. Hope you are too!
DeleteI do hope everything is ok with you. I presume it is related to last year's issue- hoping it is fine.
ReplyDeleteThis place does look great for photos!
Yup, just routine follow-up. I'm fine. Thanks for caring.
DeleteThat is so cool!!
ReplyDeleteEven more impressive in person. The Vessel is HUGE.
DeleteReally cool! From your vantage it looks like a human-bee hybrid structure! Hey, even in expensive areas you can still find cheap/affordable options to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBut sometimes it's worth splurging or saving up too. Especially for food experiences. My current goal is a trip to the catbird seat (restaurant) here in Nash. My brother and I did a trip to the attached Patterson House a few years back, which is a speakers style bar where he checked off his goal of trying a bacon infused old fashioned that he'd learned about on a travel show.
The cocktail was only $15, but the parking and walk around the area was fun and free!
Very bee-like structure. I also combine free experiences with delightful luxuries for the best of both worlds.
DeleteOh wow its huge! I cannot believe i have never seen it. I had heard of the name though.
