New Pics

Governors Island has gotten better!

They added dozens of comfy hammocks. It's been a half-century since I relaxed in one of these. And new activities are now offered like miniature golf and "glamping" (sleeping in a permanent tent). More and more art exhibits and community events keep happening. Even the food's improved: I had a bratwurst at Little Eva's that exploded with flavor and freshness.

Best of all, the Island remains uncrowded. So few people are aware of its delights that you feel like a Golden Age millionaire wandering around your palatial estate. It's a wonderful place to spend a nice Spring day.

  1. I haven’t been to Governors Island for about 30 years. I’m excited that you reminded me to go. I love these artistic pictures and the fact that there are indeed hidden treasures of places to visit !

  4. Wow, that's lovely. I dislike hammocks (we had one when I was growing up), but I like the idea of them, ha ha! I love that picture of Jackie O with the smeared lipstick - so rebellious.

  5. How fun! And hammocks are so relaxing- but I always end up nearly falling when I try to get OUT of them, haha. :)

Even better that it's not overcrowded.
