Ally Style

I spotted a cute dress that's exactly my style. In my colors. I grabbed it.

Surprisingly the dress was in Macy's, a place I never shop. I was passing through and took a chance looking at the super-sale rack. The dress was only $9.

I added a petticoat beneath it to create some volume which helps add curves to my shape. Turning a cylinder into an hourglass takes creativity.

What's your favorite style of dress?

  1. Ooh, it's so striking! What a bargain! My favourite type of dress is a Skater dress!

  2. It's a "fit and flare"! That's the most universally flattering shape - it looks good on 99% of people!

I love the stripey bottom half - so much fun!

  5. It's indeed a fit and flare dress, as pointed out by Sheila! You do look fabulous in yours, which is very cute. If my legs looked even half as good as yours, I'd wear shorter skirts and dresses too! xxx

    1. Thanks. It *is* comfy. The material stretches easily and conforms to whatever your body wants to do. I could see wearing this all day to anything.

  11. I'm not a big clothes shopper but I always find great deals at Macy's when I go.

I had just started wearing dresses for the first time in my life (I'm in my 50's) and then moved to the PNW (from FL) and now I'm way too cold to wear them lol

    1. Bring a coat! I, too, only started wearing dresses in my 50's and wouldn't let anything stop me now.
