Back In Time

I found an authentic vintage top in my local thrift-store. It's from the 1980's and its exaggerated design appeals to me. Fashion should be fun.

The top was on sale for only five dollars. Or, as we say in New York, fie dollas. To keep this piece from being too overwhelming, I pair it with a plain skirt and simple matching heels.

What do you think?

  1. This is beautiful on you, Ally - the shoulders hit just right! And the colour is lovely. The waist of the jacket is perfect and gives you a fab hourglass. Excellent call on the long plain black skirt.

I would accessorize it with a brooch and bracelet and earrings and leave your decolletage to dazzle on its own. Well done! This is one of my favourite outfits on you, ever - you could wear this to a Christmas party or New Year's Eve and be the belle of the ball. Mwah! XO, She

    2. I couldn’t have said it better than Sheila. As a matter of fact I didn’t think about a brooch to leave your decolletage to dazzle (beautifully put).

  2. That 1980s top is gorgeous and it looks so great on you. Like Sheila, I think it would be a great idea to give it even more oomph with an eyecatcher brooch. But being a brooch collector, I might be biased. Due to its deep decolletage, you could also try a longer necklace with it, a pendant with a stone in a similar colour as the top, perhaps? I'm loving your shoes too! xxx

  4. I like the combination of the top with the skirt. It really works well and the cut of the top shrinks the waist and gives you a set of hips. Well done.

  5. I think you paired it just right! It's good to balance something a little blousey with something more form fitting. The color is fantastic as well.

  7. I love the inclusion of the pumpkin!
Fashion definitely should be fun and this is not only fun but also glamorous. The extravagant cut and the sheen is very playful and the colour suits you beautifully. I could also see it with a pair of tailored pants and a flower in your hair for an Aussie Christmas party! xo Jazzy Jack

Love the colour of that top.

Isn't it weird when the 1980's are vintage? I still have a hard time with that.

You are always so thrifty on your shopping trips.
