Vintage

I love vintage pieces with retro-styling. I found this 40-year old dress in a thrift-shop, hiding behind a pile of boring clothes. The wide feminine collar and interesting skirt-pleats attract me, as does the color and fit.

For me, dressing in pretty clothes is transportation to a happier place. A land where I can explore and express myself. Does it do that for you, too?

  2. That is a pretty dress! But while retro, it's also very modern. And looks practical and versatile. You can create so many looks with this one!

  7. Looks great on you and I love the pumps with it! Eh, sometimes clothes make me happy but more often than not they don't...not thrilled with my weight so clothes aren't so fun. But makeup is since it always fits! :D

  8. That is a great dress and it looks great on you. I like the style that is both dressy and casual at the same time.
Of course, dressing always makes me feel better. It moves me to a better mood and is a great form of therapy.
Yesterday, after court, I headed home to meet a contractor. After he left I simply put shorts on over my pantyhose and worked on my laptop. We decided on take out Mexican for dinner. I went out for it wearing my pantyhose under my shorts. My wife knew I had been in pantyhose all day and said nothing and I do not recall getting any odd glances while waiting for my order and paying for the pickup.
    Another line crossed.

  14. Oh I LOVE this! That collar and those buttons! I must admit that pretty clothes do transport me! I went to a christening today in SUCH a pretty dress- it was pastel rainbow check with a huge collar- so retro and I LOVED it online from Miss Patina but it was about £75 which was more than I would pay for something but then someone sold one brand new on eBay for £34 which was a lot of money still to pay for but I had really loved it and when I saw it, I just had to go for it. I felt so pretty all day in it!x

  15. You always pick up the cutest things! This is a great dress for you. I'd have a hard time with the color (me, personally, because I have a tendency to spill everything on my clothes, lol) but I love the style and fit of this dress :) Beautiful!

  16. Very cute. I like this style on you.

Sorry for falling off the face of the earth. I had a horrible sinus infection, and started a new seasonal job. Kinda kicked my ass!

    1. Thanks. I was thinking about you and worrying a little. But I know you're a badass sea witch so there's no reason to worry. :-)

  17. Hi honey, doing a catch up - so great to see you getting out there are all the cute items you've found.

I do believe that dressing well helps one feel better. I can't put on a pretty item without feeling better, no matter how icky I may be feeling.

    Hugs to you
