Spring Weekend

Did you have fun this weekend? What'd you do?

After a rainy Saturday in New York, Sunday was beautiful. Sunny and warm enough. I rode my fast motorcycle (2016 BMW S1000R) to Jones Beach where I walked a boardwalk, gazed at the Ocean and read The (failing) New York Times while drinking a big thermos of hot tea.

Being outdoors is so therapeutic for me. I welcome Spring with open arms.  You?

  4. Looks so nice and warm... and of course you should enjoy the lovely spring weather. I can't wait for spring! We had some snow on Friday... fortunately it's mostly gone now, but I think spring is still some time off.

  5. There is nothing as good for the soul as walking on the boardwalk with the waves of the Atlantic ionizing the air.
We were supposed to head down the shore this weekend but my wife was ill so we stayed home. I cooked both days. Saturday I had on three different outfits while I made a healthy 16 bean soup with kale, parsnips, turnips and carrots. My first dress was a flowery knit with 3/4 sleeves. I got too warm cutting the veggies and changes to a lined sleeveless periwinkle sheath. After more veggie cutting I changed to a sleeveless sun dress. After dinner, when I cooled off a bit I changed back into the first dress.
Sunday I cooked up a storm. I started with a beet and red cabbage slaw followed by a roasted veggie (eggplant, zucchini, red pepper stew/soup and finished with a turkey sausage, broccolini and pasta one pot special. Learning my lesson from Saturday I spend the day in a tank top and light skirt. The skirt was a black flowery print and the top matched the border on your blog.
Spending that much time over two days in 3+" heels on a hard tile kitchen floor had my feet aching and my ears felt pinched from the clip ons but have this acceptance from my wife to be dressed and made up is a wonderful feeling.

    1. I get it. Cisgender women think we're crazy to wear heels at home, but things have a different meaning to those who've led lives like ours.

  6. I love spring. Especially all the blossoms and flowers but it gets up to about 80 here. Sweating outdoors during springs is not cool.

  7. how nice to each at the beach so early in the season ! I did the same, read the same "failing"paper, and spent as much time outdoors as I could. I was lovely!
    Yes, open arms and hallelujah!

  8. You're definitely looking happier out in the sunshine. I've been in a constant 'recovery' mode. I haven't been operating at my prime lately, but it is what it is.

    1. Sorry to hear, buddy. I've been concerned by your absence from online activity.

  9. Spring is beautiful! Here we had a short attempt from winter to come back (had this melting right away snow). I had a nice little off-road race which I loved and celebrated my past birthday with parents.
I like your weekend a lot Ally!

  11. Gorgeous photos and so glad you were able to enjoy the sunshine (don't worry--we're getting more tomorrow! They promised!) :) Jones Beach is beautiful--haven't been there in ages, but it was nice to relive it through your photos. Have seen some pretty stellar Phish shows there back in the day.

    XOXO

  12. Looks like a great way to spend a day!

Spring keeps teasing us up here. One day it'll be sunny and 17 C and the next it'll try to snow.

    bisous

  13. Such a happy weekend for your sweet Ally. It is always awesome going from winter into Spring.

We are heading into winter but the weather this weekend was lovely. Had a 'play date' with two friends on Saturday to make cards and then Hubby went out for a ride on his motorbike on Sunday so I met him for breakfast and had an awesome time.
