LTR

Dear Blog,

I don't know why I didn't realize this before.  All the signs were there.  In fact, they're staring me in the face right now.  The truth is I didn't realize we are in a relationship.  A long-term, romantic relationship.

When I wake up in the morning, my first thought is, are you happy?  Throughout the day, I think about you constantly.  I care about how you are feeling.  Are you fed regularly?  Are you smiling?  Is everything okay?  Are our friends talking to you?

When I see something interesting or fun, I want to rush home and tell you.  I can't wait to share the excitement and details of my life with you.  You're my best friend, my companion, my confidante.

You're always willing to listen to me and you never complain.  When I get moody, you accept that and calm me down.  You open doors for me.  You add dimension to my life.  I've always wanted a partner like you, Bloggie, and now I have you.  You're my dreamboat!

Also, it was nice of you to let me raid your closet for that crisp white shirt I needed to complete my recent outfit.  It was the perfect soupcon of masculinity to season my roiling feminine pot.  You're the yin to my yang, honey.  The light to my shadow.  The water to my fire.

I'm a lucky gal.  Plus, you're attractive.  No wonder the other girls look at you.  I can tell some are envious.  Hand's off!  This blog's mine!

I love you, Bloggie dearest!

  3. I let out an audible giggle.
I think your next love note should be a sonnet. Bonus points for non-cheesy rhyming.

  4. Heee! I love this. I think this totally describes why I can't quit blogging. I would lose such a valuable relationship - but also the connection to many more friendships and opportunities to learn and grow.

Got your card today! (PS I adore snailmail. Never too much! In fact I really miss my penpals I used to have.)

  6. I watched the 60 minutes show on Vincent Van Gogh last weekend. There was a remark that Vincent was a loner who needed company. I think that is me and my blog.
    Great post Ally!

  13. Such a cute post. I sure have a love relationship with my blog too. Sometimes when I am driving I will run through what I want to write and how I would word it. Of course by the time I sit down at night I forget it all or do not feel as inspired but I do think about it often.

  14. i think every girl with a blog feels this way...your life starts to revolve around the blog, in a good way. something great happens and i think about the fact that two years ago, only my family and friends would hear about it, and now i get to share it with this little corner of the world!
