I live walking distance from a shopping mall that is undergoing major renovation. As part of that, they are bringing in new, upscale stores. One of the new stores, which just opened, is Henri Bendel.
I wasn't familiar with Henri Bendel because its only New York location is in Manhattan. The new one near my house is their first store on Long Island.
What a great place! They sell fashion accessories, handbags and pretty items for the home. All their products have noticeable style and flair, and their quality is manifest.
I learned that Henri Bendel opened their New York City store in 1895, over a century ago. It was the first retailer to bring the designs of Coco Chanel here from Paris. The store has heritage.
While there, I got a great idea. What better way to share this with you than a giveaway! I picked up a Lemon Verbena fragrance diffuser, a dark chocolate bar and the most adorable coffee mug. The coffee mug is made from bone china and has gorgeous fashion outfits painted all around the side. There are three pictures of it below to show you the different outfits.
To enter the giveaway for these items, just leave a comment. (If you're shy and don't want to publicly comment, shoot me an e-mail at fhu@pipeline.com.) I'll pick one at random on Friday.
Have you ever heard of Henri Bendel?
P.S., I don't do sponsored posts. I wandered into this store on my own, propelled by curiosity, and liked what I saw. I bought these items with my own money.
I'm actually a big fan of Henri Bendel - I didn't know you lived in Long Island, for some reason I thought you lived in Canada, eesh.Fail on my half.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean we get to meet in September during Fashion Week :0
I'm less than an hour from Manhattan and often go into the city to meet friends. I'd eagerly pop in if you were in town!
DeleteI'll be in town for 10 days!
DeleteI've heard of Henri Bendel - my friend, Mary-Jo, brought her jewelry there to try + get it on their shelves, but they said her stuff was "too edgy."
ReplyDeleteBath + Body Works used to carry Henri Bendel candles years ago - I had a fig one that smelled divine.
I'm in LOVE with that mug! Its gorgeous. This is an odd request, but if I happen to win, would I be able choose a fellow follower to split the treasures with? Sharing is caring! :)
Sure, Michele.
DeleteI've never heard of Henri Bendel, but have already clicked the link to go visit. I'd so love this mug ... and if I don't win, would beg for one to bought and shipped and shipped to me ... maybe I need to see if they sell online :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is such an awesome gesture Ally - but then, that's exactly how I know you. I have a little collection myself that I'm going to be giving away this month as well.
Hugs
I have heard of Henri Bendel but have never visited one of their stores though I would love to see some Chanel up close one fine day. There's a blog somewhere that is nothing but histories of former department stores.
ReplyDeleteIt's sweet of you to have this giveaway.
What a lovely thing to do :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not posting to win (the postage to Australia would cost more than the prize!!) But I just had to comment on that lovely mug. I have a bit of a coffee mug fetish and would love something like that in my collection. I've also made a few of my own and just wish I could make something that cool, my ladies tend to be more rounded :) Maybe I'll give it a go one day.
There's no limit on shipping, so Brenda you're in the running! I shop overseas all the time ('cause I have friends around the world) and don't wince at the cost.
DeleteOh well if you insist then I'm in!
DeleteHow wonderful would it be to show off such a lovely gift and be able to tell the story of the lovely blogger who sent it to me all the way from Long Island!!!
I love that mug! I've heard of Henri Bendel, but I've never been to one of their stores.
ReplyDeleteI've got to win this! Such cute little things to brighten a day.
ReplyDeleteOMG, you are amazing person to offer it your readers. Sharing is caring indeed!
ReplyDeleteI'm not entering - sending to me if I win would cost you a lot + our post service is a nightmare, there might appear a new civilization on the bar :)))
Lyosha, you're entered. Shipping is no problem.
DeleteI've never heard of Henri Bendel! The mug is adorable! So sweet of you to do this Ally!
ReplyDeleteOooh, what an adorable little mug! Henri Bendel is actually owned by Limited Brands, which operates out of my neck of the woods, so yup I've heard of the store :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard of Henri Bendel, however I do not know where... but I want that chocolate !
ReplyDeleteWow, what great stuff you picked out.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a sucker for dark chocolate!
Your awesome for thinking of your readers :)
I am not shy. That is an awesome mug.
ReplyDeleteI think I can smell lovely Lemon Verbena from here...:D
I'm kind of obsessed with lemon smells lately, and who doesn't love chocolate? Awesome picks!
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of Henri Bendel.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely gifts. Such a sweet gesture.
Did you get something for yourself?? :)
I originally bought these items for myself and, after deciding to give them away, went back to the store the next day and re-bought the same things for myself. No need to deprive anyone, including me!
DeleteI like this Giveaway, right for everyone! :)

Yes I have Definitely heard of Henri Bendel! Would LOVE to go shopping there!! Fabulous Giveaway! I will cross my fingers that I might win.
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired some Henri Bendel online shopping. I can see it in my future ; )
ReplyDeleteI don't really do contests either, but you are so cool, I'm leaving my comment. I've never shopped at "Bendel's". Many years ago I worked at Saks in Philadelphia. That's about as close as I've come to a luxury department store. I love the romance of it, the history, although I have to ignore the whisper of cynicism regarding the have/have-nots in our society.
ReplyDeleteI wish everyone could have the opportunity to experience a luxurious moment in these opulent stores. I think your give-away is perfect!! Lord knows chocolate is food from the gods, never mind the delicious lemon verbena fragrance, and gorgeous china cups. You have exquisite taste. Your generosity is even more beautiful. You shine.
yes, please!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this store too. Hence I own that mug and my i-phone cover and the rain boots. Ordered them all at the same time when I was ordering the phone cover.
ReplyDeleteWOuld love to enter the giveaway for the items other than the mug. But even if I win the mug I can gift it to my mom. That is totally her style too.
Thank you.
Daphne.
