Bad Boys

Women fascinate me. Here's one explaining why she's attracted to Pete Davidson:

"For me, Davidson represents the kind of attainable, affable, dirtbag with a sensitive heart surrounded by years of unprocessed emotional trauma that have calcified into an unscalable wall. Some might call this affectation emotional immaturity or, rudely, a waste of time. For me, I see not quite a challenge but a kindred spirit. A man with baggage that isn’t so cumbersome that it can’t be unpacked, who will make me laugh but has also seen his share of darkness."

Hmm... What do you think?

  1. Some women are attracted to men they can "fix" or care for. If a man has gotten to a point where he's "calcified" with unprocessed trauma, well, that's just too much work - and I'd rather focus on my own sh*t than try to help someone else work through theirs. Everyone has baggage - EVERYONE - but I also need someone who is not burdened down this much. I'm a single suitcase kinda gal. I have no room for a full set of luggage. ;-P

  2. I think that hat is all kinda wrong. Can we start with that? 🙂

  3. I personally find him heinous and unfunny and wonder what sort of demon deal he brokered to get himself attached to so many high profile women.

There's a difference between a cool bad boy (typically only existing best in fiction) and a guy who will steal your rent money to buy drugs.

    1. The devil is always looking for souls to buy.

Your second comment makes me think that the ideal bad boy exists only in women's imaginations.

    2. I think you're right about that. In real life we all want to be treated well by good partners.

  4. All I can say is he must be funny and rich because he doesn't have anything else going for him as far as I can see.

    1. Funny, yes. Rich, no. Until recently he was living in his mother's house. :(

  5. I have NEVER liked bad boys at all. In fact, I loathed them when I was at school and don't see any attraction even to this day. I like a good Not!

  6. Hmm... I guess you could say I went after some bad boys in my youth. The love of my life is someone who used me after we broke up because he knew that I was so in love with him that I'd go along with whatever to keep him around. And my ex-husband cheated, lied, stole... did all these things to me while claiming to love me.

So after that I decided maybe I needed to go for a nice guy, and here I am, happily married for nearly 8 years. Sometimes nice guys do finish first ;)

    1. It's good you made better choices and reap the benefits.

  7. I've never heard of the guy, but judging from the photo, I absolutely cannot see the attraction. Apart from everything else, I really loathe it when people wear their caps the other way around :-) xxx

  8. There would be much for that Woman to unpack...

  9. She (& apparently the many, many women who agree) can have him.

I am well past my fix the emotionally unavailable bad boy phase lol

  10. It's fascinating, isn't it, how we're each drawn to different types of people for a wide array of reasons? I like a little of the "bad boy" edge myself, but always in a law abiding kind of way if that makes sense.

PS: Pete's a great comedic actor, but not the type of chap I'm personally attracted to romantically. I suspect he'd be a very chill, easy to get along with friend though. :)

    1. I suspect the reason many people are attracted to certain types (e.g., bad boys) is embedded deep within their psyche, as a result of their parenting and early childhood.

  11. I don't know him, but as far as I can remember I always tended to be attracted to good boys. I mean nobody is perfect but the 'troubled bad boy' vibe doesn't attract me.
