Beer Crowlers

Do you know what a crowler is?
I didn't until now. Arriving at Keuka Lake last month, my life was transformed by a delicious Mocha Stout served fresh on tap at Keuka Brewing Co. I took home a four-pack, which is now gone, and want to drink more but it isn't sold in local stores. So I opted to buy some from their website and they offer the beer only one way: in crowlers.
Contrary to popular belief, the best way to store beer these days is not bottles, it's cans. Can technology has developed and is now superior to glass containers. Craft brewers try to explain this to customers who mistakenly believe, from past marketing, that cans are inferior to bottles.
A crowler is a 32 ounce aluminum can. Bon Appetit confirms everything I just said above and proclaims crowlers are "the future of your craft beer consumption."

  1. I've never heard of a crowler - but I do know what a growler is! Apparently (according to the Interwebz, which are never wrong!), a crowler is a growler...in a can. :)

  4. I had not heard of a Crowler (but will remember it for Scrabble!) - How much is 32oz? I'm not so good at imperial measurements!

  5. Yep! My personal fav local brewery Southern Grist does growlers/crowlers. My brother often gets a bunch of their seasonal/limited edition four packs and during the pandemic has had them delivered to me. Before i went back on meds, I'd enjoy one from time to time. Very rare for me since I dislike most beer, but southern grist does some really interesting and unique beers that aren't very "beery". I also like sour beers that are fruited.

We should definitely go by their brew house when you come to Nashville

    1. Fwiw, i do not recommend coming to Nash any time soon. I am ashamed and embarrassed and quite frankly scared of the way people are reacting right now.

    2. I want to visit you and your city more than anyplace else but don't feel safe until after the pandemic is over.

  6. We get these every now and again from our favorite brewery. Usually these are good to split, unless you like to drink beer fast. But they're a really good way to try out a new beer!

    1. I love beer but prefer to split something this size.

  7. That beer flavour sounds delish! I am not a big beer drinker, but I do like one of our craft brewers in Victoria. They always have interesting brews and offer seasonal brews which is always a treat to experiment.

    1. I don't drink a lot of beer (or any liquor) but do occasionally like one for the taste. The flavor of the Mocha Stout, with a hint of vanilla, is wonderful.

    2. I'm not a big beer drinker either, but I have been enjoying the Hoyne beer, they have some interesting beer and light and fresh flavours. They created a cherry witbier this summer, it is crisp with a cherry after note.
