Woof Woof!

According to the Chinese zodiac we are about to begin The Year Of The Dog. To celebrate, I bought two bottles of Lucky Dog hot sauce. They are delicious concoctions created by a guy who was making hot sauce as a hobby and then turned his passion into a small business. All of his sauces are nice combinations of fresh, wholesome ingredients. No chemicals.

While stocking my cupboard, I also added a bottle of Homeboys hot sauce. New to me, Homeboys also uses natural ingredients for pleasant flavors, some packed with heat. I found these sauces at a local hot sauce store. It's good to shop local.

What are you doing to celebrate The Year Of The Dog?

  1. We are in Florida on our annual 'warm up' tour. We have eaten at a small fish house chain called Pinchers and they had a hot sauce known as 'One Pepper' which is made from habanero, scotch bonnet, garlic and vinegar. It was smooth and packed a punch. I think that 'One Pepper' is specific to the Pinchers chain of restaurants.

    3. We have hit a few more Florida fish joints that have their own brand of hot sauce. While I think that Pinchers one pepper was the hottest I had a nice hot sauce at the New England Fish Market that was hot and a bit sweet and also a nice hot sauce at a place called Mulligans in Jensen Beach. I think I will stop at the Fish Market and buy a bottle before I head north.

  8. Ooh, sounds tasty! This week's Style Imitating Art is a brilliant picture of some dogs round a table which was chosen to celebrate Lunar New Year. I am going to do an outfit based on it! You should too! have a look at www.14shadesofgrey.wordpress.com!

  9. Love the labels but sure aint going to try what's inside the bottle. When we went to New Zealand in December I tried to take only things that were Made In South Africa ... Here we say "Local is Lekker!"
