P.S., Here's another secret about my life. When most women come home, they kick off their heels. When I arrive home, I *put on* my heels. I wear them around the house because I enjoy how they make me feel -- putting me in touch with my feminine side. I may be the only woman who relaxes, cooks and cleans in high heels but that's okay, because "there's no wrong way to be a woman."
(I love that phrase; it's the tagline of a video which encourages acceptance of diversity.)
WOW, I LOVE this ensemble actually! I just couldn't imagine doing my housekeeping in it, you are a better Woman than I my Friend! *winks*
ReplyDelete*Wink back!*
DeleteVery "Queen of All".
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is wonderful.
You have stronger feet that I my friend.
bisous
Suzanne
You look super cute in this outfit ... perhaps and elegant twist on the French maids outfit to do housework in???
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, the skirt is my favorite! And if my heels were more comfortable I'd kick around the house in the them too!
ReplyDeleteI am in the same boat. I look forward to putting on my heels when I get home, along with a dress or a skirt and top.
ReplyDeleteI may have mentioned that my wife has become more tolerant of my dressing since most often when I dress I will do the cooking or cleaning. She seems at east when I am at the counter slicing and dicing veggies.
Earlier this week I stopped on the way home and picked up a few pounds of chop meat and some sausage and whipped up a major 'sauce' complete with all the spices and herbs. I cooked enough so that I have 5 extra servings of frozen meatballs, sausage and 'gravy' sitting in the freezer.

beautiful look! i like your top Ally.
ReplyDeleteas for heels.. let me tell you a secret. I often put on pretty dress and heels for home in days when I was running around like crazy being as much of a tomboy as I am
Omg ! Hands down my favorite outfit on you and one of the prettiest looks on any blog. I am I'm love with the all out feminity! I am glad you wear heels to cook, that sounds like a daily celebration to me!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this about yourself Ally!

I adore this outfit - one of your best, Ally! The white shoulder straps are distracting me a bit, however - I think they should be on the shoulder (like a bra strap, to support the top), or cut them off/hide them to make this a true off-the-shoulder top. :) Not a huge deal (my own issue, ha!), and feel free to ignore me!
ReplyDeleteGawd, I can't wait to get home and take my heels off! But I can see on the flip side how exciting and fulfilling it would be to "be Ally" once you're home! Good for you!
The straps started on my shoulders but kept falling down -- and since I'm also the photographer but unable to see what's happening, I missed that. For simplicity, I may just cut them off. My shoulders are too wide for them to stay where designed.
DeleteI can never resist a tulle skirt :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, maybe it's just me but I feel as though you are really blossoming and coming into your own and developing a style that is uniquely you and it's just so refreshing to see :) I also love this ensemble. I personally can't imagine putting on heels lever but that's also because I come home and want to take off my bra immediately lol. Set all the things go free, I say :)
ReplyDeleteXoxo
Thank you, Charlotte! I believe you're right.
DeleteI agree with the others. This is one of my favorite outfits I've seen you in. Love it! You look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I feel I may be gushing a bit. But you deserve it. (Can you hear me "virtually" clapping and whistling?) :)
Thank you, Lisa! Yes, I can hear your enthusiasm -- and it thrills me!
DeleteI dub this outfit "Sweet Summer Lady".
ReplyDeleteIt's a winner. I admit, I go straight for my jammies. I like comfort though. These days anyway.
I love that you clean and cook wearing your High Heels! What a great image and good to read that you enjoy it and it connects you with your feminine side.
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is really sweet and fun, great combo!
By the way, I have received your sweet card and I'll totally join your girl gang! This will find its place in my kitchen, for sure! Thanks a lot for your sweet cards, they always come surprisingly and put a smile on my face.

Almost Stylish
Yay! Welcome to the gang!
DeleteYour outfit matches Kezzie's cards in her recent post!
ReplyDeleteI love how celebratory this outfit feels.
I no longer wear heels but I remember the powerful feeling they gave. Surprisingly I never felt very feminine in them, but that's just me!
Wearing ballet shoes (like on my wedding day) made me feel most feminine.
xo Jazzy Jack
I get that. Thanks for contributing.
DeleteHello! Ha, ha Jazzy Jack was right about my cards!.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really pretty look, it makes me think of Ballet dancers. You're better than me, I can't bear heels for very long. In fact, we are on our way to a wedding now and I was wearing pink floral heels (they'd go well with this!)but after walking 3/4 mile to the station in them, I've swapped into.flats!
P.S. what are you sitting on? It looks like you are suspended in air!!!
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is just wow! Love the off the shoulder top! xxx
