Office Gal

I seek experience. I want to learn how it feels to dress different ways -- modestly, in a sexy manner and everything in between. In pursuit of experience, I sometimes go too far -- like wear a sassy dress so short I can't sit down in it. My goal is to explore and learn.

With that in mind, here's another outfit at a different place on the spectrum. Modest but hopefully interesting. Something I might wear to the office. A cute pencil-skirt over a black knit top, with beige hose, kitten heels and silver jewelry. Oh, and a more conservative hair-style.

What do you think?

  4. You do go from one extreme to the other... But as you said, you're exploring and learning. Actually, it's not that conservative. The dress, I mean. Now, how about something middle-of-the road? Not conservative, not flashy, but with a bit of sass... Like a miox of the last outfit and this one?

    1. You're right, Tiina. Testing edges helps me orient myself. I always end up somewhere sane. My real style exists somewhere in the middle of the road, as you put it. If I had a chance to do this in public, that's where I'd go.

  6. I do tend to be partial to the office girl look. Last Thursday was a snow out and the office was closed and I stayed home working from my laptop. Most of the day I was dressed in office attire. I have three rather inexpensive Lane Bryant suits that consist of a jacket and skirt. I spent several hours downstairs in my skirt suit, hose and heels hitting the laptop.. a nice way to spend a snow day.
I have often wondered about wearing a dress to the office but that would never fly. Perhaps if I was a one man shop with a private office and I needed to get into the office for weekend work I would give it a go.

  7. Shorten that skirt up to the next grey line of plaid and show off your gorgeous gams!

  8. I love seeing you play with your style. You are more daring than so many other women I know. I do enjoy seeing your looks like this because I can easily imagine you stepping out the door in something like this, versus the previous look, and it makes me excited to see you in something fitting and flattering and cute.

    1. Thanks, Megan. I experiment 'cause I want to explore. I haven't arrived at my final style yet. Most women do that earlier in life and then stick with their choice.

  10. Exploring is good ... I am so happy that you feel free enough to share your exploits with us.

If I was trim I would wear that outfit in a heartbeat!!! I always loved pencil skirts but unfortunately my hips do not allow me to wear them.

  12. Yes to trying new styles! It's good to experiment with different looks. Some days and moods call for super short dresses...and some call for lovely pencil skirts. I really like this look on you as well. :)

  13. I think this is a beautiful and classic look... and you can't ever go wrong with a pencil skirt (they are unbelievably flattering but sometimes difficult to walk in, eh?). Two big thumbs up :)

  14. Absolute adorable. Sexy and still office appropriate. I would wear this immediately. You don't need to adjust your hair style. Well done Ally.
