I don't have curves. My body is a cylinder: 40-40-40. But clever fashion design helps me create the illusion of a female shape. Ever since I saw dresses like the one below, I craved its magic.
Searching for jewelry to go with the neckline, I found a choker at Target for $14. It works perfectly with the dress and I like its elegance.
Have you ever worn a choker necklace? And what do you think of my outfit?
LOVE the dress! So flattering. I've been searching for one like that for myself for a while now. Did you find it thrifting? Or splurge because it is just so great?
I like the choker (they're so in right now) but find them very hard to wear on myself. I have a short neck already and they cut it making it look even worse.
I splurged and paid retail at my favorite store (Fox's) which sells designer clothes at steeply-discounted prices. It's a wonderful place to shop. They have a dozen or so stores in the U.S.; there are two in NYC you can visit when you next come here. See: http://foxs.com
Unlike you with a short neck, my neck is ridiculously long so a choker makes me look normal.
Oooh! Thanks for that! I must admit I'm rarely on Twitter lately so I was lucky to catch your comment there. I really want to check out this spot the next time I'm in NYC.
I do love this dress! The style is perfect for you and it looks comfortable. Love the choker too, it is feminine and perfect for this look, as it does not overpower. Well done! xx, Elle http://www.theellediaries.com/blog
I think this dress does marvels and works its magic on you ! .. I don't think I've worn a choker in ages. It's mostly because of my double chin. I feel it attracts more attention to that area.
That dress is stunning on you - I love how it looks on your hips, and how the longer length makes you look so chic. Chokers can be tricky to wear, as they "chop" off the neck - they really require a wide neckline, like on this dress. Well done, Ally!
This dress sure gives you the right curves!! I am not a fan of anything that is too snug around my neck (I feel like someone is choking me) so chokers and turtlenecks are a big no for me. I think this choker looks great with this dress.

I love those illusion dresses! I wonder if there's one that can make my bosom look smaller. HEE HEE!! I'm not a choker fan, I'll wear them but I don't like how they feel or look on me.
Wow, wow, wow! Did I say wow? Well yes, wow! You look curvy-licious in that dress Ally. And the choker is spot on. I'm envious as I really like chokers and that's a keeper!
Fantastic outfit, Ally! This dress really gives your figure that extra va-va-voom factor. Gorgeous choker, too. I was all about them in the 90s. Not only because they were in vogue at the time, but because I already adored historical fashions and loved wearing Victorian inspired elements (like chokers) into some of my looks while I was growing up.
I've been on a blog-reading hiatus lately BUT I am trying to catch up and I just had to say how FABULOUS this dress looks on you! Very feminine and flattering :)
Great outfit with the contrast colours. I had a choker long ago, but have not worn one in a while.

Ooh la la! ;-) That's a gorgeous dress on you!
ReplyDeleteAnd that choker is all kinds of classy... Puts the 1990s ones that spring to my mind at the word to shame!
