My Office

I don't think I've ever shown you where I work.  I have an office that's comfortable and enables me to do what's necessary.  It's located in the center of Long Island, which allows me to travel everywhere on the Island as well as pop into NYC.

What is your work-space like?

  4. I've shown my desk a few times - I am the front desk/Reception for 2 floors of IT professionals (cubicles, desks, meeting rooms and kitchens), right in the downtown of my city. You have a great office - that mug is awesome.

  6. Awesome office. I'm not sure if I've shown off my whole desk area, but I think I've done bits and pieces. Of course I've had to move my desk to add on to it because it wasn't big enough to hold everything!! I've even got my own minifridge.

  7. The plants are a great touch - I think they add a nice energy to a workspace. Your office looks very tidy - I am still learning to tame the piles of papers that start to multiply on every flat space in my classroom!

    1. I've always had plants for that very reason. Office space is too sterile without them. They remind us of nature.

  8. I love your desk! What a fab piece to have there. I love that you have lots of personal items in there too, some offices are so stark with no personality. I work in a small alcove inside an open plan office with three of my colleagues - our desks are small and white and taken up primarily with my computer. I have found space for a few postcards and other bits and bobs though.

    1. It's healthy to personalize our work-space. We spend so much time there; it should reflect our personalities.

  9. I like that little side table. We moved last year and my new office/work space is AWFUL. Hopefully I'll be transforming it with some extra cash in a few months. It makes such a big difference on my motivation to work.

  10. Your coffee mug made me laugh.

As you know, I work in rehearsal halls and in theatres. I've been involved in the arts since I was a little girl, so it doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me. I often forget how mysterious and sometimes magical the workings of a theatre can be to those who are on the outside. Maybe I should do a post about my work day and environment sometime soon.

  11. Nice office space & I love that mug--you're so lucky to be able to work in an office where you can use it. If I had tried that in my previous work places it wouldn't have gone over so well. :) Happy holidays!

  14. Oh wow, this is a nice office. It's so neat and that desk is a great piece. My office has a huge window that lets natural light shine in… but its messy as hell!

  17. You've got a great set up! It must be so nice to have your own office like that so you can meet with clients. I'm currently in a little cube in the middle of Times Square, but I'm in the center of the universe so I can't complain!

  18. OMG, I'm going to steal your mug. Thanks for the peek at your office. It's a bit less colorful than I would expect, but lawlerly pursuits are sometimes a bit gray.
