I found an attractive pair of blue suede shoes by Cole Haan. They have a wingtip style with -- hang on to your hat -- blue soles. Beautiful blue soles. Normally $200, they were half-off. Given their sturdy construction and good materials, I'm sure I'll be wearing them for a full decade. That's $10 per year.
You may know the song "Blue Suede Shoes" which was performed by Elvis Presley. Elvis didn't write the song, though; it was written and first recorded by Carl Perkins. Carl, in my opinion, was a much better singer than Elvis and I prefer his version. It's more authentic. Have you heard either version?
Gorgeous blue suede shoes!!!! I have definitely heard Elvis' version, not sure about the Carl Perkins version though.
ReplyDeleteThese shoes remind me of your blue courts that you showed on your blog the other day. I am sure you are going to look super sexy with these on.
Wow I love these! Especially the bright neon blue at the bottom. I bought a pair of Cole Haans in Florida and just love them.
ReplyDeleteI do have a thing for men's shoes. I found myself taking tons of photos of them while in Amsterdam. I didn't find any to bring home to hubby though...wasn't lucky with the sizing on the ones I liked.
I need to look up the original version of that song.

Yup, I know both versions - Elvis' always seems to veer to camp. I adore those blue suede shoes! They are amazing. It's great to see some menswear get funky!
ReplyDeleteI love these shoes. My husband would adore them! Anything unique like these always catch my eye! And yes, Carl Perkin's version was much better, but he just didn't have quite the same stage presence!
ReplyDeleteOMG these are just incredible! Kyle needs new shoes, I should tell him to look into these, hehehe.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteLove these! The husband has a similar pair with neon green soles that get lots of attention and go with a surprisingly large amount of things in his closet. Hope you post an outfit with them, even a womens wear take would be really interesting.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about lacking enthusiasm for buying men's clothing. I don't have many male clothes, I'd much sooner spend my money on female stuff. I absolutely hate men's shoes.
ReplyDeleteCole Haan is an amazing shoe designer. I've had shoe crushes on quite a few of his styles lately. But those blue suede ones....that sole is electrifying! What a great buy...and bargain :)

ReplyDeleteOh wow, what a great pair of shoes :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I am a sucker for shoes that have attractive and outstanding colors-
and I don't think I've heard that song before.
You're too young! Elvis made it a hit in the 1950's.
DeleteDang those shoes are awesome! I got my husband a pair of gently used blue suede shoes from Goodwill a few months ago for $4 and this post just made me realize that he hasn't worn them yet!
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes! I really hope to you wear them in a post, kind of funky Diane Keaton. And I like both versions of Blue Suede Shoes. (It's against my religion to speak against the Elvis.)
ReplyDeletefancy! i always feel better when i wear a newly purchased pair of shoes right out of the store.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are WAY cool! I like how you broke down the price. I'll have to remember that tip.
ReplyDeletewow! simply wow! amazing shoes!
