Prezzies

I have wonderful friends.  And their holiday gifts have started arriving.  I don't know about you, but when a package comes in with my name on it, I can't wait until Christmas -- I rip it open right away.  Life is too short.  Seize the gift!

I've received lovely gifts from Megan, Gracey, Jen, FuzzyBella and Michi.  Thank you, guys!

I don't know if you've met Michi yet.  A fellow New Yorker, Michi is a talented artist who does the most amazing fashion illustrations.  I bought the one below from her Etsy site.

For Christmas, Michi created and gave me the picture shown on the right.  A handmade, personalized gift!  Wow.  I'm cherishing it.  Michi is also a stylish dresser and I love seeing the chic outfits on her blog.

Do you wait until Christmas to open your gifts?

  1. I try to wait because then I have more to open on Christmas but if my friend is like "open it now!" I don't mind aha. I've opened two and they were both great. I love this time of year! Merry Christmas!!

  3. For some reason I don't get much in the way of gifts. The kids aren't nearby and no one seems to have much money. Honey and I are getting tires for each other. But I have dropped money on food for ASPCA, Second Harvest, Salvation Army, toys for needy kids, etc. That really does make the season better for me.

  5. Wow...Michi is an incredible artist!
I love the gift she gave you. I don't know you well, but she kind of captured the essence of what I see of you here on the blog.

    1. Thanks, Lisa. I believe you're right.

And, if know me here, you know me in real life. My blog is a window to my true self.

  10. "Do you wait until Christmas to open your gifts" - Oh no, we need to be facebook friends so you can know the saga of my presents. Meghan was very bad this year and rewarded with the best present that the company shipped in it's box, instead of a brown one, so when it was delivered and she checked the mail rather than her boyfriend she discovered her brand new serger on her porch.

    Two weeks before Christmas. ;-)

Your present is amazing. Those sketches are beautiful! I wish I could draw like that. So lovely. I hope you're having the best holiday, honey!!

  11. I love Michi's art and agree she captured Ally perfectly - beautiful.

I don't open things right away (so Megan tells me when a package is food). I like the suspense, plus the gifts are usually fashion stuff that the family wouldn't think of, so they are absolutely fun to open all together.

  12. That's a fantastic piece of artwork, you're so lucky to have received it. The piece you bought is equally beautiful.
It's fun to open things early but I like to wait (and make everyone else wait) until Christmas morning!

  13. I'm a waiter for sure! I've always loved surprises and don't mind holding off until the 25th to open my gifts. We were never allowed to open any early when I was a child, and I think that I just carried on that same mindset into my adult life.

  14. How wonderful! You are clearly a cherished friend - no surprise, considering all the love you put out there.

  15. Hell, no! I don't wait! As soon as yours arrived in the mail, I ripped into it. I meant to tell you I was glad you did the same when you got mine. Hubs teased me about it because I opened like three mailed presents before Christmas; he said I wouldn't have as many gifts to open on the actual day as everyone else...and, you know, he might have been right about that, but I still wasn't sorry that I'd been enjoying my gifts already. ;)
