Blog Of The Year
I think we deserve recognition for that. And applause. *clap clap*
This time of year, there are numerous awards given for Best Regional Manager, Most Improved Third-Grader and Least Offensive Co-Worker. To my knowledge, there is no award given for Blog Of The Year. That's a shame.
When the world falls short, I step up. I hereby announce the start of my annual Bloggy Award, given to the best blog of the year. The Bloggy Award will go to a blog with magic, a blog with charm. It will honor the blog you enjoy visiting most. The one which, when it pops up in your reader, you head straight there, knowing you'll have fun.
Please nominate your favorite blog in the comments section. Yes, you may nominate your own. No, you may not nominate mine. (I'm disqualifying myself from competing.) The Bloggy Award will not be decided by votes; instead, a dedicated team of skilled professionals will review the nominees and award the winner based on merit.
Nominations are open until Christmas. The winner will be announced before New Year's.
In addition to new readers and the adulation of our community, the lucky blogger of the year will also get this...
So nominate! P.S., Don't look too closely at the reflections in the ornaments or you'll see me taking the picture in my underwear.

Ally! You are such a sweetheart for doing this! I think it's a wonderful idea!ReplyDelete
I would like to nominate Lynne from Practical Paralegalism, not only is she stylish and interesting, she works hard, she is a wonderful mom to her teenage daughters and she is so kind to other bloggers - she sent me a box of hand me downs and she adopted Megan's little cat - she deserves it!!
What a fun idea! And of course I looked more closely at the picture after your instructions to do the opposite...I probably wouldn't even have noticed if you hadn't said anything :P hahaReplyDelete
I'd like to nominate my dear bloggy friend, Sydney of The Sydney Chronicles (http://syddavis.blogspot.com/). She's so completely honest and open, and I find that really refreshing. Plus, she's hilarious and adorable.
(She's Canadian, though...but I'm sure she'd be able to find a place to exchange that Benjamin for a...uh...whatever the Canadian equivalent to $100US might be!)Delete
You are so funny! I can see you in your underwear and you know we have to take a look since you said that. haah! Love it!ReplyDelete
I'd like to nominate Curtise at SecondhandYears. I love her photos and her writing. This is fun!
I second Lynne's nomination! With all that she deals with in her personal and professional life, she still manages to shop for others, do giveaways on her own blog, send me coffee gift cards when I most need them, and manages to look totally amazing all the while.ReplyDelete
There are two blogs that deserve top prize in my opinion- both different in style but not attitude. Both women are gorgeous, love dressing but add so much substance to their style! I'm speaking of Vix, the Vintage Vixen and Judith of the Style Crone. Both have had a tremendous influence on me this past year, both have such wonderful blogs!ReplyDelete
I nominate the sweet Megan Mae of Megan Mae Daily. She is such a wonderful young woman. I adore her style and that she is kind to an old lady like me means a lot to me. I'd love to have a daughter like her.ReplyDelete
Ack! There are too many to choose. It would be like picking a favorite child. But I do love your perspective and insightful posts, Ally (even though you're disqualifying yourself). I also love food blogs and any blogs that help me save time.ReplyDelete
owww I gotta think about this. Hard!ReplyDelete
Damn! I was going to nominate you...ReplyDelete
I am nominating The Wearist (http://thewearist.blogspot.com). I seem to run to her blog the most lately.
i wish i could nominate yours! i'm always so excited when you post something!ReplyDelete
Megan Mae Daily! As much as I love your blog, and Trees from Adventures of a Girl from the Naki, Megan's outfit posts always inspire me.ReplyDelete
Lynne of Practical Paralegalism - I always enjoy her posts.ReplyDelete
Yay! I nominate Verbal Melange. Emma is completely charming and I love reading her blog. (Although if you ever have a best smile category, that would have to goto Gracie at Fashion for Giants!)ReplyDelete
Sorry! It's Gracey from Fashion for Giants.Delete
Two great blogs! Thanks for helping out.Delete
very much fun! cool idea!ReplyDelete
In fact I'd nominate you if I could.
Lynne (Practical Paralegalism). She's amazing, I still didn't read each of her posts (I'm traveling deeper into her blog) but each time her charm is very strong!
Oh no! I can't choose between Lynne, MMD, and Gracey for this award - they are all my favourite!ReplyDelete
What a great idea !ReplyDelete
I am scratching my head.... i at least a handful i can think of.
In the meantime I 'll just laugh at your reflection on the ornaments :)
There's still plenty of time: keep those good ideas coming!ReplyDelete
I nominate FuzzyGalore.com - I'm so envious (in a good way) of Rachael's blog and her blogging skills. She always has something nice to say. Plenty of eye candy too!!ReplyDelete
I think your blog is the best thing since sliced bread and if I can't vote for yours then it would be a toss up between Simply Sassy (which you know well) and an 'un-fashionista' blog called Whispered Comfort.ReplyDelete
What a great idea! I nominate Lynne of Practical Paralegalism. Now I'm off to gaze into the reflection of your balls. Er...you know what I mean.ReplyDelete
HAHAHAHA, undies & balls. Sisters from another Mister!! :PReplyDelete
I wanna nominate Bethie the Boo! Because she is amazeballs.
Dawww, thanks Sara! :)Delete
Hey, I totally think I'm a contender for Least Offensive Co-worker. I think the prize is an "Attaboy!" and a free cuppa coffee :PReplyDelete
Ooooh, crikey, so many of ya'll are my fave, fave, fave, but this year I'm going to have to nominate Judith, The Style Crone, partly because she lives in an apparently magic house that frequently belches up incredibly glamorous clothing. I love her adventures, and the incredible love story between her and Nelson that is as much a part of her blog as her always elegant and sophisticated style.
I had to click on the image to see you in your underwear...I admit it. It was too tempting.ReplyDelete
I've got to nominate Sal at AlreadyPretty, not only a joy to read, but her information is so darn useful!ReplyDelete
Ugh. This is hard. Either Lynne from Practical Paralegalism because she's funny and I adore her or Amber from Butane Anvil because she's just awesome.ReplyDelete
What a splendidly thoughtful thing for you to do. Thank you very much! I'm a touch too shy to nominate myself, but if you want to add my blog to the running, I certainly won't mind. :)ReplyDelete
Happiest holiday wishes,
You're in the running! And you produce a beautiful blog full of amazing content. It's one of my favorites.Delete
Is it too late to comment? I nominate Megan (MMD) because that's how I found your blog :).ReplyDelete
Not too late! And Megan's blog is a favorite of many of ours.Delete
