Relaxing

Sometimes, ironically, activities that are physically taxing are psychologically relaxing.  Like when exercising at the gym lifts your mood.

For me, putting on pretty clothes is like that.  Certainly, it is a physical effort at the end of a long day to come home, change into lingerie, slip on tights, slide into clingy clothes, arrange everything properly, put on makeup, set up lighting and take pictures -- but it's worth it.  The exercise relaxes me.  It soothes my mind.

That's what I did tonight after arriving home, exhausted from a battle in court.  Seeking succor, I went straight to Ally Crack -- the color pink.  Soft hues of pink and white which make me feel happy and calm.

What do you do to relax?

Thanks to Jazmin for the skirt and necklace.

  1. Hey Ally, Pink sure is a pretty colour and I can see why you love it. Your look super cute ~ I would just have used a lighter shade of pink tights however they show off those gorgeous legs of yours (I am sooooo envious!!!).

My ultimate relaxation is scrapbooking ~ however I have not even done one page this year yet.

  2. Very adorable! Love the full twirly skirt. I love your deployment of tights. It's always an inspiring to see your bold pairings, and I think it brings up the fun-factor too. Hot pink is currently my favorite shade of pink though, so I'm biased. That and I love the matching lipstick!

I do a similar thing. I try on "possibles". When I'm feeling very frustrated and manic, I start pulling clothes onto the bed and shoes into the floor, trying on all sorts of random outfits. Sometimes I come up with great outfits that are seasonally inappropriate, so I snap a photo for later reference. However sometimes I'm in my pajamas and just slip on a pair of really high heels/boots and admire them. I really like my shoes and can't keep them off!

  6. Oh a´pretty ballerina !
To relax I like laying on the bed and watching tv, getting a facial or a massage.
Lately, sitting on the floor in my pijamas and gardening in my tiny balcony is the best. thing. ever.

  11. The pink tights look great! It depends what type of stress I need to work off, but I like to work with my hands generally. Do something arty, draw, sew, glue together macaroni... Glad you've found your outlet.

  12. "Ally Crack"--that made me laugh! :) If loving pink is a crime, then lock me away!

I like how you chose 3 different shades of pink for your outfit. It's cohesive without being boring. I've done that before with shades of green. Oh, and your belt is super cute.

  13. Super cute Ally!! I guess nothing can make me more relaxed than just talking to G. about what happened during my day, while we listen to his vinyl collection. Or stupid tv programs like "fab 5" or house makeovers! And cooking! Kisses :)

  15. It seems that i am at my most relaxed state when I'm buzzing somewhere traffic-free on my motorcycle in the early morning.

I don't know what it is about that top photo of you in this outfit but - this could be in my top 3 favorites. There is just something so naturally sweet and simply pretty about it. There is a kind of effortlessness that makes it look so good. <3 it!

    Happy Friday, doll~

  19. Lovely skirt! Did you find that the way it swishes around your knees made you walk a bit differently? Swishy skirts affect me that way.
