I don't shop at Bergdorf Goodman but I subscribe to their advertising; I like to look at their clothes. Rich women get to wear some wonderful stuff.
I just saw an ostrich-feather skirt that amazes me. I find it beautiful although your opinion may differ. I'm attracted to how different it is from ordinary clothing.
What do you think? Do you like it?
I admit I gasped when I saw the price ($1,595). But if you can afford to shop at Bergdorf, money is probably not an issue for you.
I can imagine this would look wonderful and dramatic on you since you have those long legs. Not so much on a short, already "fluffy enough without feathers on my hips and thighs" person (like me). ha
ReplyDeleteI imagine this to be a WOW skirt Sharon Stone would have worn to the Oscars with a Gap tee or simple white button down shirt (she did this, you know? and it was all the rage)....and brilliant diamonds. :)
I have often thought about making my own skirt like this. I love it. I certainly don't have a spare $1600 to own one, but if I did, I'd wear it everywhere...grocery store? Why not!
ReplyDeleteMake you own and make a DIY!!!! : )
DeleteThat sure is pretty ... but at that price, even if I was rich, I would not buy it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful skirt Ally, and one which I think should be worn with a black or silver sequin vest top to a formal event. It reminds me of eyelash fur, one of my favourite materials which I wrote about last year (http://in-the-pink-fog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/this-weeks-cravings.html).
ReplyDeleteI agree about rich women getting to wear wonderful stuff, but you can get some equally nice stuff for a fraction of the price. Some people have more money than sense at times but on the other hand sometimes you have to pay for quality.
Thanks for sharing.
I must admit I am a bit head over heels over the shorter mini skirt version of this. I've seen a couple in high end stores and so wanted to try it on. I think they are so fancy and would make one feel super sophisticated and sexy.

I'd wear that skirt...if Bergdorf Goodman paid ME the $1,600 price tag! Otherwise, no. Feathers do not belong on THIS girl's skirts :)
ReplyDeleteOkay and seriously, $465 for a plain beige sleeveless shell? You've got to be kidding me. Rich women are crazy ;)
ReplyDeletewould wear that skirt, it´s gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteif a had the money to pay for such wonderful made clothes i had the occasions to wear them too. in fact, i have the ability to make such stuff - but even to go to the opera i would be totally overdressed here. and the Met is to far away.....
xxx
I actually like it - and would probably wear it if I were taller.
ReplyDeleteI think its an odd piece that stands out in a positive way.
Prices can be really ridiculous for women's clothing. Especially when the materials used to make something come from an animal.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful skirt...but knowing that it's BG, I would have expected the huge price tag.
I would totally wear that skirt, btw ;)
xo
I'd wear it. I wouldn't buy it but I sure would wear it. Oh! Can you imagine a matching bolero??
ReplyDeleteit's very pretty and I'd wear it. For sure the price for me is way too high. Moreover I'd buy clothes like this I'd go for a cheeper version of possible for me because I wouldn't wear it often for sure.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes look at fashion magazines but I consider that akin to looking at a catolog of mansions. I think that what I envy most is what I imagine are the quality fabrics of the pricey clothing. I would like silk instead of polyester though I know sometimes these high end pieces are still made of man made fibres so perhaps I would be disappointed.

It's amazing, but like others have said - where would you wear it!? I grow so practical the older I get.
ReplyDeletei love it. i still love those faux-feather mini-skirts that came out a couple years back.
