I popped into NYC Tuesday to visit MOMA and saw some paintings. Today I went to the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook and saw more art. Here are my favorites.
Lydia Field Emmet, "Portrait of Cynthia Pratt" (1919)
Lee Krasner, Untitled (1963)
Elaine de Kooning, "Standing Bison, Cave #2" (1986)
I like it, too. The museum is a half-hour drive but that's close enough. I became a member because I go there so often. They did a glass exhibition last year which I blogged about.
Great selection, Ally. I particularly love the "Portrait of Cynthia Pratt" and "Heading West". xxx
ReplyDeleteBoth appeal to me, too.
DeleteI think the Bison is my favorite. You see more than just bison the longer you look.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I agree.
DeleteYou're so lucky to be close to so much great art!! Of this bunch the Krasner is my favorite. :)
