I own four vehicles (BMW touring motorcycle; BMW sport-bike; Mazda Miata; Fiat Abarth). Each is essential and performs a necessary function in my life. I wouldn't want to cope with fewer. Each gets used regularly and washed/maintained with care.
In the future I plan to add two more vehicles but, honestly, those will be frivolous (McLaren super-car; Janus Halcyon 450 motorcycle). I don't need those toys; I just want to enjoy them as rewards from a long, hard career.
When I was young I had no interest in motor vehicles. I was widely known for driving old pieces of crap I got as gifts or bought for less than $500. I cared nothing about what those cars looked like; I just used them for basic transportation. Then in 1997 I got my first motorcycle and discovered the pleasures of nice bikes and cars.
What do you drive/ride?
No drivers license here! I don't drive, I'm driven!
ReplyDeleteThe view is equally good from the passenger's seat!
DeleteSame as Sheila, I've got no drivers licence. Unlike Sheila's glamorous Vlad, though, I'm only driven in a humble Ford Fiesta!Y Your Mazda Miata is a thing of utter gorgeousness! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks. As I say above, you're welcome to join me on a drive in the passenger seat.
DeleteMy husband was very into cars when he was younger - more the muscle cars. He had the requisite Dodge Charger and Camaro to fix up.
ReplyDeleteHe still loves working on cars but we don't have that kind of space and we need something reliable now lol
Car shows are a huge thing out her in the PNW though so we've been having fun going to those.
Right now we have a Jeep Rubicon and a Jeep Cherokee.
My favorite cars were my 1st, a Le Car and my VW Golf GTI. I do like my small, zippy cars (mostly because I'm 5 feet tall lol)

Nice choices! I like small cars, too. Car shows are fun.
DeleteHa, like Sheila, I am generally driven but my own ways of carrying myself under my own steam are my blue Brompton fold up bike which I ride every day to the station and then my hybrid road bike which is by the brand Specialized. She is a white bike. I love both of them in different ways though I really want to change the handlebars on my Specialized as they really are not comfortable. My husband drives a Ford Focus!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how attached we get to our bicycles and cars?!
DeleteMuch like my fellow BC gal (and dear friend), Sheila, I do not drive. In my case, this is primarily due to medical reasons. Instead, I take in life as it zooms by the passenger window of our current ride, a Mazda CX9.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I would love to be able to drive one day. Realistically, I don't foresee that happening until self-driving cars become a reality. Which, assuming they do, I/we will definitely do everything we can to lease or purchase one and give me a taste of life behind the steering wheel for a change of pace. :)
