Monday

I hope everyone is safe and healthy. If you need anything (including an ear to listen), reach out to me. We have to stick together during this tough time.

Ground was broken on my new garden this weekend. That's good news. Aching muscles are bad news -- but inevitable when you normally work at a desk. My back isn't used to shoveling dirt. No regrets, though; I anticipated physical pain in this new project and am willing to put up with it. When I feel an ache, I remember how hard my mother worked to keep two boys safe and happy. I view endurance as gratitude.

What are you up to?

  1. Ooh, a garden, very ambitious. I plan on cleaning out my closet soon, as well as getting back to doing some artwork.

  2. So very jealous! I miss working in my inlaws garden. I only have a porch planter. Between my neighbors, "landscapers" working for the property and stray cats, it's inevitably killed everything I've planted in the past.

I repotted the ends of a bunch of green onions in the planter. I'm nothing if not persistent.

Also i sent you a snail mail letter. You may well end up with emails from me too.

  3. It seems as if the lockdown has not only kept us away from each other it has dampened our spirits to get involved in doing things. We need to get our spirits back as well as our freedom to get out and about

  4. How wonderfully exciting. Anything one can safely do to foster new life around us right now is a beautiful blessing. I hope that your garden thrives and brings you immense joy for years to come. 🌻

  5. My working hours have temporarily been reduced to two days a week, so you'll find me in the garden, tackling some house projects and doing my seasonal wardrobe changeover. I'm expecting aching muscles too! xxx

  6. That’s great you started a garden. It’ll be a nice distraction from the crazy times we are currently living in ❤️

  7. Glad you're working on it! Make sure to stretch before and after, will help with the back pain. I'm working away on the Museum's spring exhibition.

  8. Follow up - I think one of my volunteer tomato plants is going to attempt to come back in my porch planter! I have a little shoot right now. It's either tomatoes or weeds. Time will tell!

  9. I do wish I could tend a garden right now. I hope you enjoy it for me : )
Have you decided what you're going to plant?

    1. Yes! Mostly pretty flowers but also some carrots and radishes. I love fresh food but rarely have luck in growing it; plus, I don't want to be disappointed when local wildlife eats some plants.
