Two Wheel Passion

I've ridden 3,000 miles on my new motorcycle this year -- and it's not even Spring. I'm on fire!

I'm also contemplating buying another new motorcycle -- a high-performance sportbike to replace my Yamaha which got stolen last year. (It was recovered but is impounded until the criminal case is over. I visited the bike and it was trashed by the thief. I'll sell it when it's released to me.)

For the last decade I've owned two motorcycles at a time and that's a perfect solution. One is a big touring bike for comfort and long-distance rides; the second is a speedy rocket for hooliganism. My new BMW K1600GTL replaces my K1200LT touring bike and I'm going to get a BMW S1000R to replace the Yamaha FZ-1. Different tools for different jobs. You wouldn't bring a school-bus to the race-track and you shouldn't cross the country on an uncomfortable machine.

Life's short. Ride a motorcycle. Or whatever your passion is. By the way, what IS your passion?

  1. You always make good use of what you have- go for the new bike! You've done an impressive amount of travelling!!!
My passion? Hmmm, I like lots of things but I guess music is the main one!

  2. There's nothing like a little hooliganism to spice up your life...and no better way to do it than on a bike!

  3. So cool! Great to hear from you, darling!

  4. I was really sad when you posted that your bike was stolen ... As my hunny always says "May their balls be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels, and their fingers change to fish hooks!!!".

I agree that you need to feed your passion ... A new bike sounds awesome. My hunny got a new bike recently and LOVES it! Unfortunately he had an accident two weekends ago and broke a rib so he can't go riding at the moment! :(

    My absolute passion is scrapbooking!

  5. Bryan was making fun of me because I've barely cracked 2K on my car... which I've had since October. I KNOW. I just don't drive it very often BUT I do want to now that the weather is warming up.

I hope you can replace your other bike (still can't believe someone would steal it. But I like the comment above re: balls and camels, LOL). XOXO

  6. Congrats on logging 3K clicks on your new ride already, Ally. Other than that super unpleasant freezing cold ride a while back, I hope that they've all been enjoyable ones for you.

Here's to the next three thousand and many, many more to come!

  7. Ouch?!?! Stolen bike AND it was trashed? That stinks, BIG TIME!
My passion is reading and my hoarder-lady book shelves show it...the books spill out above and around over stuffed bookshelves in each room of the house, even the hallways have built ins and the classroom is wall to wall shelving with the spilling books....our whole family loves to read and when you multiply a book addiction x 5...wellllll....that's a lot of books!
