More Michi Magic

During our photoshoot, Michi took over 200 pictures. We selected nine of them for editing. I showed you five in the first post; here are the other four.

It's interesting to reflect on these images, particularly from a distance. They feel surreal in a way, decidedly detached from my normal life. And yet, undeniably, that's me in them. I'm appearing like I've always wanted to appear -- and never thought I could. It's kinda like waking up and realizing, through the haze, that what you thought was a dream is actually real.

What's your experience with dreams and real life?

  1. I am not sure if I had commented on the styling, did you pick these or was it Michi ? Regardless, I think they were great choices. I personally love the black and white chevron skirt.

    1. I selected and bought the dresses after brainstorming with Michi about the two directions. She supplied the ears; I provided the rotary dial telephone. It was a joint collaboration.

  2. How much fun is it to have professional photographs. I love taking pictures of other people and not so much having my picture taken despite the blog. It is really nice though when I have had professional photos taken and they turn out pretty, almost as pretty as yours, Ally!

  3. Beautiful. I love that these photos are an actual dream come true for you. And seriously, that black and white striped dress. I know I already said it, but it is perfect on you.

And I want you to know that your comments on my changing style caused me no discomfort at all. Just, like you said, food for thought. It really did make me think about how my style has changed, hence todays post! So thank you for giving me something to think and write about!

  6. I have to say that the hair and make-up really stood out for me in these photos. So soft...so pretty, so feminine.

A couple days ago I decided to take some photos of myself with my eyes closed, while laying down. I thought I'd look all relaxed and dreamy. Ha! Old and saggy was more like it. Let's just say that my personal vision or dream of how I looked and the reality were very far apart. I deleted them immediately. I'd much rather envision what I think I look like than see the real thing. I guess I'm a dreamer! LOL
