View From The Other Side

I'm constantly amazed at how differently people perceive things. We see through the "eyes" we have and few people see events the same way.

Jen just posted about her experience of my visit (here). I highly recommend taking a look at what she wrote. I'm impressed at how closely Jen observed me and our time together. She saw stuff that I didn't think anyone does -- because, in my past experiences, nobody has. This heightened perception only deepens my respect for her.

Life is hard, but friends make it sweet.

  4. I LOVED what Jen wrote. I was sad when I couldn't seem to comment on her blog to tell her so.

She was very observant. It sounds like a wonderful time.

    1. I mentioned that to Jen and she's working on enabling comments as we speak. Please go back soon and tell her your thoughts; I'm sure they would mean a lot to her.

  8. I enjoyed reading your previous post, this one and also went to Jen's blog to read the other side of the story about your Atlanta trip. The sides are two, but the friendship you have is evidently something precious for both of you. It seems you had a lovely time, and also that the bond you created is stronger now...a true friend is supportive and encourages you to be yourself, just like she did. A friendship like yours is a mutual blessing, no doubt on it :) Hugs and also thank you for your super kind words on my outfit post the other day ! xoxo

  11. Both posts (yours and hers) were great and have me thinking. (You are very good at that!) I really like what she did with your makeup, but I think you are too hard on yourself and your skills. You are improving with time! I know women that have been doing makeup for far longer and are not as good as you.

    1. Thank you, pal. Yes, I probably am too critical of my efforts. I focus on them so intensely and wish they were better.

  12. Its just so so wonderful to have good friends like that in life! And especially those kind of friends who sometimes see more than we do ourself. These people are the most precious because they can tell us that we are on a wrong path or on a right path even before we notice it ourself. We should all take good care of those people in our lifes :)
    Sending you much love!

  14. I'll be heading over to Jen's blog to read her post. You're such a beautiful person Ally that we can't help just loving you. I also wanted to thank you for the gorgeous card - I love it! Thanks for thinking of me. I've not posted anything in ages as our Post Office have had so many strikes and there is post for August last year that I have still not received.

Hope you have a magical day

  16. Friendship is a a gift unto itself, undoubtedly, but having a friend who sees you so very well they could almost be called a soulmate friend, were there such a term, is beyond amazing and I truly couldn't be happier for you both and the beautiful, poignant bond you share.

  18. Isn't it amazing how some people are just. simply. good.
And how some notice things we try to hide or others just won't bother noting. Amazing to hear you have such a friend in your life!
