Inviting Summer

What says Summer more than a pretty floral dress?!

Despite today being rainy, I wore this dress to invite the new season to arrive.  If we wish hard enough, maybe it will come soon.

I love the colors and print in this dress.  I accessorize it with a glass of blueberry pomegranate juice which is healthy and stylish.

Sometimes I put together and outfit and, despite high hopes, I'm disappointed.  The converse also occurs and today's look was a pleasant surprise.  I enjoyed the dress so much that I played with new poses and ideas.

Any that you like?

  1. I love super feminine sundresses so this is totally up my alley (I'd say "Ally" but I have no idea what kind of connotations that would imply)

  6. The seated pose is my favorite - very glam! Whenever I try to pull off a seated pose I end up looking like Quasimodo. :p
If you are chasing summer, come to Hawaii - and bring your sundress. We have sunshine to share!

  8. Cutie cute cute. These are my favorite type of photos from you. I can tell you are having fun, you look good, you look like you feel confident and happy. Your body language emanates goodness.

That dress print is so cool and perfect for summer. It's a floral that I could even see myself wearing.

I like the sitting picture towards the middle!! I think sitting pictures are a difficult pose. You and Sheila do a good job with them though.

  9. Love the cute dress with bright pop of color. Your shade of lipstick looks very pretty with it.
I especially like the photo where you're holding the bottom edge of the dress and the picture of you sitting right below that.

  11. Haha, I have a friend who wear shorts "on principle" because it is summer, and there should be summer weather (even when there is not) so dammit.

I like your twist on it- you're enticing summer to arrive with your pretty dress and winning smile! I think your red heels kick up the outfit into garden party territory.

  12. You look absolutely stunning! This is my favorite dress you've worn!

My favorite photos are the glass with the lipstain, the legs, and I always love your pose with your hand on your shoulder and the other on your hip. It's so poised and wonderful.

You and this post are so much fun.

    1. Thanks, Jess. That pose with my hands on my hip and shoulder took me YEARS to learn, after endless trial-and-error. Nobody ever taught me how: I missed out on Girl School.

  16. Indeed, that's a boat I've (unintentionally) booked passage on plenty of times over the years. Not all outfits are winners - even pro stylists fail (sometimes epically) when they put together looks. It's far from the end of the world - everything takes experimentation and bit of trial and error, and fashion is no exception.

This dress is a winner for sure - you know I'm adoring the feel good, vibrant colour palette big time!

  18. I like this dress - for some reason you look very "British" in these photos. Maybe it's the red flowers on the dress -
I love it when an item gives you a feeling and this dress rocked your world :)
