Halloween Costumes

Finding the right Halloween costumes isn't easy because I have to come up with something clever while working within Robin's boundaries.  After struggling a little this year, I hit on a terrific idea -- we're going to be Max and Caroline from "2 Broke Girls."  With my long blonde wig, big chunky jewelry and sky-high heels, I'm going to be Caroline.

If you don't know who these sassy gals are, there's a picture below.  Now I just need to find a horse to play Chestnut.  :)

I bought tickets to a big costume party at a fancy local venue.  Our friend Debbie is joining us, wearing the cheerleader costume I offered in a recent swap.  (I wore it once for a photoshoot but it's reallllly too small for me.)

What are you dressing up as this year?  And don't say nothing or I'll come over to your house and wrestle you into a Big Bird costume.  (That one will be very popular this year.)

  1. We don't do Halloween. I'm too much of a hermit. But I can't wait to see pics of you in your costume.

  2. I've never seen the show but I am sure you two are going to look adorable!

I always dress up, too. It's fun. I generally err on the side of being ridiculous, though - Gumby, banana, hotdog. Not sure what I'll be doing this year.

Off topic: Jewel looks wonderful! Have you been there before?

    1. Not yet, but I've been meaning to. Tom Schaudel creates great restaurants and they spent MILLIONS to build-out the space for this one. I really have no excuse because it's just down the block from my house.

  4. What a great costume idea. I seem to have run out of creative energy, so I think I'm going to recycle my "Yummy Mummy" costume from a few years back :)

  5. Fantastic! Can't wait to see the photos!!

I'm going to be in a sexy Bavarian costume which I am recycling from years ago when I went as a Sexy Swiss Miss and handed out Swiss Miss packets of hot chocolate. My boyfriend is going to be in lederhosen - but with a kinky twist to coordinate with my black patten leather corset. We're going to be Kinky Bavarians! Last year I was his Naughty Nurse and he was my patient with a prosthetic butt hanging out of his gown! (he is a surgeon in real life!)

I just love Halloween, don't you?!!!

  8. I'm going as Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" - I'll be in my green tweed suit, with low proper shoes, gloves and a hat...with feather crows attached all over me, and scratches of blood on my face. :) I can't wait to wear it to work! Hee hee!

  9. Aw what a fun idea! I'm probably dressing up as... nothing. >.> I'll probably throw together some kind of fun outfit though. I don't even know where my witch hat is.

  10. I'm going to be a more bad-ass version of red riding hood, with a coyote fur in my basket. Can we do a Halloween party on your blog and send in photos of us dressed up?

  11. I can't wait to see the pics! Halloween is such a fun night. It used to be my fave holiday. Since we have a party invite and an excuse to dress up, maybe it will be again. I may be 80s girl, since I have personal experience ;)

  12. Aww, have fun!

I wonder if my non-costuming is related to there having been only one Halloween that I lived in a place where trick-or-treaters visited. When I was young, my parents got the same 3 trick-or-treaters every year, until they grew up!
