I did that today. I woke up early, put on a pretty red dress I bought yesterday at Savers for $6, went to a secluded park and braved the cold for a fun photoshoot. I really enjoyed myself.
Thoughts?
The shoes, you may remember, were a gift last month from Loren.
The photos, of course, were taken by me, all by myself, with a tripod.
I would have used a camera! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAwwwww Ally my dahlin' ... gorgeous gorgeous ... I love it, you look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I love these pics. You look so happy and the dress is cute. And I will never grow out of dressing up! haha

Wow, that is commitment: Waking up early, going just for a photo shoot and wearing a summer dress in the cold.
ReplyDeleteTotally paid off though cause the background is great and the poses are so fun. The dress is super cute.

Too bad it was cold... You look like you were having a great time! Glad the pictures don't lie about that!
ReplyDeleteAww your look like you're having so much fun! But brr! Kudos for braving the cold. I know it's gotta be chilly out there. Nothing like a red dress to make you feel glamorous, huh?
ReplyDeleteI love it! It's great to see you venturing beyond your backyard.
ReplyDeleteGreat shoot! A little bit of summer in these cold days. The dress is lovely, you look great in it.
ReplyDeleteYes, Diana, "venturing beyond [my] backyard" was a big part of the thrill. I wanted desperately to be outdoors so I could jump and play like a kid. Certainly, it took courage for me to carry my girly stuff to the park and shoot there.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes it was cold! But I was so excited I didn't even feel it in my summer dress.
Gorgeous! However, eek I'm super cold. You are braving that weather like a champ. The color of the dress is so festive and the shoes are a perfect match.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteThe color red and dots are so fun, and it's looks like you're having just that. The jump is perfection. You rock.
ADORABLE! I should do this soon.
ReplyDeleteI feel like a jerk for not commenting lately. I've been reading as usual, but keeping quiet because of time constraints. First, I'm so glad you enjoyed the dress I sent. I NEVER would have thought it would look so adorable with green! Its so mermaid-esque, especially with the gold shoes. I mean, really great color combo you put together. But I knew that you would. You've got a good eye for styling bright colors.
ReplyDeleteThe top picture of this post is SO SO SO joyful, I smiled just looking at it. Its so lovely and happy. I sincerely hope that you were as happy as you look in the photo.
i have those days too when i just want to relax and do something just because! glad you had fun :)!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! And brave! When dreams come true, it feels like magic! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, Ally - I think it may be time for you to get yourself a very smart and stylish coat. The winter light is very beautiful and would make for some more lovely outdoor photos ;)
ReplyDeleteI've got to echo Diana. Glad to see you outside, being yourself.
That red dress is the cutest.
Fuzzy, thanks for the suggestion. You know, by coincidence, I came to the same conclusion this week. I went to Savers Friday (when I bought this dress) specifically to look for a cute coat. They didn't have any, except for a nice PINK leather jacket that, as much as I loved it, I couldn't imagine when I could wear it. For fashion, I want something big and fluffy, like expensive coats I saw at Fox's in Huntington Village last week but for less money.
ReplyDeletevery nice pics and dress. i really love the first shot. so feminine!
ReplyDeleteYou take such good photos Ally! I love the dress, it is a perfect match for those shoes. Glad to see you out having fun, everyone needs to do that once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteCuuuute! I hope you don't catch a cold (she said, sniffling into a cup of ginger tea with honey)...
ReplyDeleteHow very cute - i like your pictures and i MUST SAY you have the greatest legs and I NEED to get me a camera....
ReplyDeleteLorena
OMG that dress was six bucks?! How come my Savers never has adorable dresses like this in stock?!
ReplyDeleteYou look ADORABLE!!
I love the how much fun you are having!! You look great & these photos are awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat is really adorable. :) Not in a dorky way, I know people have weird ideas about the words adorable or cute, but "adorable" is the first word that springs to mind.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are superb! So much fun! I think you've found the perfect dress for Loren's shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteThat first pic made me smile so big. I LOVE THAT DRESS. It's vintagey and modern at the same time. Totally looks like something you could have paid $60 for from Mod Cloth...cannot believe how lucky you got finding it for $6!!! Aaaaaand...you went to a park!! You are seriously making the moves towards stepping out and presenting in public...wow!
