A Long Island girl bought a prom gown at Lord & Taylor but, days before the event, learned one of her friends will wear the same dress. To avoid that fiasco, she went back to L&T and bought a simple blue gown -- and she painted flowers on it. The girl's name is Lily so, of course, she added lilies. That's her in the picture above.
People are impressed with Lily's project. She explains painting is a hobby of hers and she wants to be creative and save money.
I believe she did a good job. What do you think?
That's so lovely, and original!ReplyDelete
We should do more of it.

I think that is a clever way to have a one -of-a kind dress. Having matching dresses is cause for anxiety at Prom, as of course, anything thing that involves being in high school!ReplyDelete
I adore how he created this, the color suits her, and I hope she is continuing to paint clothes, and canvases alike.
I love that--taking something and making it your own!! She has such talent.ReplyDelete
This is so beautiful! Creativity is truly the best fix for anything!ReplyDelete
It's gorgeous!!! I love her flower crown, too--so pretty :)ReplyDelete
I think not only was it clever but the results were outstanding. At that age I would have freaked out at something like this happening to me. It also shows great character and maturity.ReplyDelete
She did an amazing job! I think she handled the situation quite well and no one else would have a dress like that!ReplyDelete
Beautiful but the simple blue gown was pretty in its original form.ReplyDelete
Fab idea and it looks great!ReplyDelete
I've painted on clothing since I was about 15. For a while I used to paint jean jackets and jeans and sell them. Clothing holds acrylic paint very well. Plus you can create one-of-a-kind pieces!
So clever! And those flowers are perfect. She is a very good artist and creative. Great post!ReplyDelete
That is a really beautiful and wonderful idea! The results are excellent!ReplyDelete
I think it's great, I have been painting and embellishing my clothes for years, and it has led me to a wonderful career as a dressmaker. Kudos for a great job!ReplyDelete
She looks beautiful and it certainly does no look like those flowers were painted on afterwards ... Clever girl!!!ReplyDelete
I think it looks absolutely amazing. Such a good job!ReplyDelete
She did a great job. I hope she was able to return the first dress too. Still she came out with something truly uniqueReplyDelete
