The Joy Of Shopping

Before I started to blog, I didn't shop much.  When I needed something, I'd go in, buy it and go home.  I didn't linger; I didn't browse; I didn't even go to stores unless I was on a mission.

That's changed.  I've learned the joy of shopping.

This week, I had a few spare minutes during lunch so I visited a nice boutique in my town (Fox's).  I rarely buy retail, but this store has designer clothes at discount prices.  I wasn't planning to buy anything, just look around.

But there it was!  A pretty dress in unusual colors.  After circling it a few times (do you ever do that?), I was more and more intrigued.  After finding one in my size, I plunked down $29.  I'm considering this dress a Spring gift to myself since today is the first day of Spring.

What do you think of the dress?  Aren't the colors interesting?

  8. What a wonderful fit for a wonderful pattern. The design lines suit you beautifully: long, wavy hair with a long wavy color scheme. And how nicely that bracelet works as an accent. Brava!

Are those shoes Highlights/dance shoes? Clever you! So easy to walk -- and pose - while wearing them.

  9. Thats a totally cute dress, I love the colors. AND I am really liking this longer darker hair on you. It is for sure much younger and flirty.

And by the way.. your post the day before-- your eye color is fantastic! I think I noticed your eyes more with your male hair since the longer female hair wasnt distracting :) Anyway, the point is, you have great eyes!

  12. That dress really suits you. The circling was worth it. Great score! The colours are gorgeous on you and I think this is a good way for you to wear yellow. Mixing it in with the pink/purple shades that look so good on you keep it flattering and the combination is so spring like. The style and fit of the dress are perfect too! I was so excited about your dress I burned my dinner! Don't worry I was still able to scrape off something salvageable.

  21. Fantastic frock!!! I love the very subtle hint of 1920s-esque tailoring to it and the awesome honeycomb pattern. I've had dresses with many different patterns over the years, but never one that bumblebees would approve of. You've made me yearn for something similar now, too - big time!

Have a fun filled, terrific weekend!

  23. They colors are definitely interesting, and you KNOW I'm all about a honeycomb print.

Also I saw your comment re: Sheila's blog about brown - I'll admit, until I started my blog, I REFUSED to wear any brown. At All. And after a couple years, I started giving it a chance. But really? I still don't like it all that much. I have a few pieces of brown clothes/print brown.

I LIKE drab colors like olive or taupe, but brown? Blech. Especially "chocolate" brown. I think now I have one pair of brown boots and one brown skirt. I've noticed though that subbing in burgundy for brown works a lot of times.
