A girl after my own heart. You KNOW I love wearing brights in the winter; and I really do believe the color keeps you warm. Love those booties; are they new?
Yaaay! I try to wear as many bright colors as I can. They make any day, especially winter days, better. What I really love though is that bracelet. I think 'popping' with a black and white pattern is cooler than the opposite.
I like that you've put that black and white woven bracelet with your outfit. It balances out the black booties just great. I like this warm/hot pink as well. I always seem to hit fall with exuberance for warm colors and muted tones after being frustrated with the mass produced summer colors which are not me at all. But during the winter I feel like I'm suffering for color and can't find my tones. So that's when I feel most thirsty for color. I like to do that with tights and scarves and keep the main clothing pieces in neutrals because they're more easily found in stores. I'm going to be posting something more colorful in my next post! How is it you make me type so much?? ;)
I hear you, sister! Bright colours are the way to go. Why oh why is everyone in brown, grey and navy, so dull, unflattering and draining. You look fab, what gorgeous legs you have! x
I absolutely agree with wearing bright colors in the winter. Winter can be so gray and depressing that bright colors seem to make those days a little brighter and more cheery! I really like your sweater dress. I need some more of those in my closet :)
Oh definitely. It's like instant warmth! I seriously LOVE that shade of your sweater dress, and the cowl neck is just so cute! ♥ laura the blog of worldly delights
With the weather we've had here (80 degrees on Monday, the low 50s yesterday) all bets are off on what's getting mixed and matched at the moment. I did organize my closet last weekend and realize I need to follow your lead Ally and add more brights. Just seeing your outfits cheers me up.
Awesome outfit and way of approaching the doldrums of winter! I completely agree! I've been wearing grassy greens, soft candy pinks, and tropical purples a lot lately for that very same reason.
You are so right about winter and colors, no colors make things even more dull. Besides red and pink is a great combo. Over here we still need jeans, boots and poofy jackets every day tho, and those tend to be neutral colors :/ I got a pink winter jacket from Santa tho :) x, Lara http://rockteraptor.blogspot.fi/
You are exactly right! I find that the drearier the day, the brighter the colors I want to wear. I especially like orange and reds when it's gray and miserable outside.
I tend to dress like the weather, which is not always healthy, I know! But the ladies here in Texas do dress more colorfully than in my former home, Wisconsin. I do think it has something to do with the weather, (or tequila, I'm not sure which...)
Oh, lovely, Ally! Bright colours make me smile. I see colours when I listen to music (synasthesia, sorry for bad spelling, am on a tiny phone!) and am very responsive to them. My mum and I had our colours done last year and it has made such a difference to my wardrobe, all these bright clear colours that I thought didn't suit me, but really do. My wardrobe is flourishing now :-)
You always look so good in pinks, fushias, oranges, and lots of other colors that I wish I could pull off half as well. This sweater does look toasty, but I'd substitute faux fur lined boots 'cause my feet are always FREEZING. Love the orange ring, too.
Absolutely! I love wearing bright colors in winter. It makes me happier, and I trick myself into believing that bright colors will keep me warmer. :)

ReplyDeleteYes. Payless ($19)
DeleteHow lovely and cosy in raspberry. Now that I'm paying attention, yes to winter brights, though baseline is still solid black, lol.
ReplyDeleteYes! Color! Color makes me happy! Pink makes me even happier, so your entire outfit makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to infuse some color this week to try to invoke feelings of summer. It's working a little bit!

ReplyDeleteI should amend that I think they're both uber cool. ;)
DeleteYou know what, I do but it never ends up in my blog!
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to post something brighter, even if it's just the shade of lipstick :)

I'm a blog-whisperer. :)
DeletePretty colors. I always choose neutrals for myself. I suppose I'm not that daring with clothing!
