Too Far?

Okay, the suspense has probably been killing you, so here's my wilder take on yesterday's outfit.  You get the full view of it in the second and later pics.

Which outfit do you prefer?  And do you think I went too far with this one?

My philosophy in fashion is to embrace what appeals to me, regardless of convention.  First, because I was forbidden to dress up for most of my life and, second, because I want my life to be undiluted by social pressure.  I'm reaching for my dream without inhibition.

  2. I don't think you went too far at all! I was expecting flames or animal print or something the way you were talking! I love pink though, so maybe that's why I think this works, but really pinks and grays look nice together. This is a seriously fun outfit. The first one is like a mild mannered office gal and the second one is that same gal ready to party at the end of her workday! :)

  3. No, that's NOT too far!!! It's great for going out too. I just bought some bright yellow tights yesterday that I'm anxious to put together with something....not sure yet. Did you know you have a double shadow?? ;)

  4. I love the tights and shoes together! What a fabulous pop of colour against the black skirt. I'm not so chuffed about the lace glovelets (a very young look) or the drapey scarf at your neck. I would rather see an echo of the bright tights somewhere up high, whether in a belt, a bold necklace or a bracelet cuff.

I think I like your bold look more than your "tame" look! Well done!

  6. Too far? Not possible! I love how daring and confident you are with your outfits. The colored tights and mixed textures are just wonderful in this outfit! Wearing the scarf as a belt is a great versatile touch as well!

  7. This one! OK, yesterday's outfit was fine, if a little "safe". But today's outfit has some personality! The neon pink tights are fun and flashy, and bright colors are huge right now. I'd rather see people wear outfits that express their personalities rather than the same old color combos we always see. Fashion is supposed to be fun, right?

  8. I think both are great. They are for different occasions, perhaps. But they both really work. Loving the hot pink touches here.

  9. Surprisingly, this is my favorite of the two looks. I have long been a fan of grey and partly started my blog to outgrow that. This look proves why--the pink scarf especially is a lovely addition.

  10. I love your wild look! You've really hit on an important technique here -- using the same pieces to create very different outfits. All ladies need to know this trick!

  11. You rock the coloured tights (you know they're my fave!) I really really love red & pink together and you kept it just demure enough with the scarf and flirty skirt- very well styled!

  12. Definitely not too far! I've worn red tights with red shoes, but I love the effect of pink+red. I think you needed a red head accessory to echo the red shoe, but that's the only critique I'd have, however that's purely an extra thing that I would OCD-want.

  13. You didn't go too far. You just added hot pink, which is awesome. I adore your gloves and want them to be mine!

May the force be with you.

  14. I agree 100% with your philosophy. We should embrace the fashion that appeals to us and not follow anyone else's fashion rules...unless we want to.
I have to say that I adore the bright color in this outfit. I don't think you've gone too far...unless, perhaps, you were attending a funeral or a job interview. For any other outing I think it totally works. :)

  15. I'd add the hose frm the previous look and then this would totally rock .. the pink tights don't do it for me.

  16. I actually like this look more than the first because of its colour. It's more fun and you look great in pink and bright colours. The gloves are really cool.

    Great look!

  17. I was expecting something really off the charts, too, but this works. I have to admit that I really love the beautiful blush-colored scarf; it is tremendously flattering. Your red tights and shoes make me happy :)

  18. I like this - however i'd remove the scarf around your waist and the gloves.
Maybe it's because we don't need them here but I have never been a fan of any type of gloves. Although probably is they come back as a strong trend, I might begin to like them ;)
