I had a little time today so I played in my closet. I focused on creating curves where none exist. My body is cylindrical -- I have the exact same measurements for my hips, waist and bust.
To confront this challenge, I wore a skirt from my sweet friend Emma which is so flared as to almost be a tutu. The flaring makes my hips look larger than my waist, at least I hope. What do you think?
It looks good. I love that yellow!
ReplyDeletei think you did a great job! im constantly trying to create curves i dont have. im heavy and i carry my weight in my belly and my hips arent exactly curvalicious so im always trying to switch things around and make my waist smaller and hips look a little bigger. NOT an easy task! aha
ReplyDeleteYou look smashing in yellow, hon! What a glorious shade.
ReplyDeleteI love this - it accentuates your waist nicely! Well done!
Fashion is all about illusion and creating shapes that might not exist on their own. You look more curvy and feminine in a flared skirt. Good choice!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this look! The yellow top is Perfect! You look Fabulous!
ReplyDeletei think it looks great! and i love that skirt!
ReplyDeleteHaha when I saw "Emma" I thought, "I didn't send this in my package!" But then I realized it was a different Emma. I'm STILL not used to my name being a common one, haha.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the shape of this skirt definitely gives you a curvier look. And your legs look great!
You're going to have to accept that I know two Emmas, Emma. But you're still unique!
DeleteIt does give you hips--I would saw it is an unqualified success.
ReplyDeleteWow! This look I really like on you. You are lucky in the respect that you can wear such exaggerated silhouettes without actually looking shapeLESS, instead you look quite shapely. I adore that shade of yellow and those loose flowing sleeves scream spring.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fav Ally looks imo.
Looks great and appropriately curvy! And such happy colors!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute skirt! I love that and the happy yellow shirt too!
ReplyDeleteA lot of fun. That skirt is really fabulous. Definitely helps define your waist & give you some curves. The yellow is great too. Also I like your makeup choices here. The dark lip was a really good decision.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun skirt! i certainly does give the illusion of an hourglass figure. i have this problem too...

Totally, TOTALLY works !
ReplyDeleteOh and I also love the hair.
I think I want that skirt! You look exactly like a Golden Girl. Not the Betty White kind, the Oscar statuette kind, all shiny and mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteWhoot whoot now that's a curvy silhouette and what a fun skirt! I love how flouncy and sassy it is, really exaggerating your waist!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Ally.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for leopard print so that skirt is awesome in my book. Your sunshine ring is very sweet, too!
LOVE. IT.
ReplyDeleteThat is all.
That is the perfect outfit to add curves. And you canNOT go wrong with yellow and leopard.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Ally, I know it's late notice, but if you were able to find an 80s (or otherwise) prom dress now, maybe you could just play dress up for prom like I am. Just a suggestion; I'd love it if you could participate.

I love this outfit! The yellow is so fun and pretty and I adore that skirt! It does make you look curvier. :)
